National News The BBC

That doesn't mean those who organise the protests are at fault though.

You would want football banned even though it will always "bring out idiots".
No it don’t, and yes they do.

The BBC is not meant to carry political stories whilst polls are open. Has they been anything more political than the jingoistic flag waving of Brexit in the past four years?

Is that not factual then?

"jingoistic flag waving" 🤣🤣

It's also known as reporting the news QR. What would the BBC be in your dream? Just constant rolling news of Brexit scare stories, alleged racism and claims of Tory corruption.

Just read the Guardian QR, and stay away from working class men in pubs. I feel like the real world might be far too much for you.

Why shouldn’t the patrol boats be dispatched, it is sad that it has come to this. If the french trawlers want to blockade jersey then as part of the British isles we have a duty to protect. But with the french now sending two patrol boats then that is an act of aggression.

@QR The BBC is much more trusted by Lib Dem and Lab voters than it it is by Tories, that seems to suggest if there is any bias it is a centre-left to left bias.

I think if you visited BBC Studios you'd find they are crammed with faux-liberal intolerant-tolerant uni grads, who despise Brexit and assume anyone with a working class London or northern accent are probably knuckle-dragging racists. Maybe you should apply for a job there?

The French aren't blockading St Helier though Baz. Ships are still able to enter and exit. This is a protest, and it's typically French. If French farmers want the attention of the French government they fill the Champs Elysees with tractors. This is how French fishermen get the attention of the British government.

I’ve just got in and misheard the news now which was different from GMB news this morning where they were talking of a blockade l.

That just tells me that Tory voters are paranoid and intolerant in equal measure :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, but you are right that London is a world apart and that is shown by the fact that it is the only region in the UK where the Tories are still consistantly smashed in the elections by Labour year in, year out.

Initially, it was a blockade. They successfully delayed the departure of a freighter by over 4 hours.

I mean that's obvious by the fact the majority of it is a crime-ridden hellhole, where the mayor is more worried about pronouns and microaggressions by people getting stabbed to death on the streets in broad daylight regularly.

Most of the "Tories" I know aren't really Tories, they're just normal working people, many of whom used to vote Labour, who are sick of being looked down upon and sneered at by the liberal media and Labour. Most of us think this country is a very tolerant place and we're not ashamed of its history, so basically we are scum.

From the BBC's Web site...

Subjects which have been at issue or part of the campaign - or other controversial matters relating to an election - must not be covered on polling day itself, so the BBC's output cannot be seen to be influencing the ballot while the polls are open.

So Brexit and its impact isn't a controversial matter in respect of the Hartlepool by-election? 🤔

It's a story about our military monitoring a situation in the Channel, and one that has to be reported.

It is major news QR. Brexit has happened, and is a fact of life. It's not a political debate anymore other than to deranged remoaners who have some kind of blind allegiance to a political project most of them don't properly understand. The vast majority of Brits have moved on now.

It is simply news that it would be utterly bizarre if the BBC didn't report.

I haven't said they shouldn't report it. They should do but they should not* post politically sensitive copy (new stories or updates on current ones) whilst polls are open.

*edit oops!

If this whole thread is designed to troll then I congratulate you.

QR you are starting to sound more and more like a conspiracy theory nut on this thread, nobody and I mean nobody has remotely viewed it the same way as you, if there was even the remotest bit of credibility to your view don't you think the legal people at the BBC would of got the editors to pull it, or the civil servants who monitor this type of thing would of been in contact and asked them to remove it?
