Just noticed that Josh Murphy and Yanic Wildschut were both at Norwich, Wigan and Cardiff all in the same year. So I would imagine they know each other well (Unless they were replacements for one another at each club)

They both play in the same position too. Oxford could potentially be their fourth club together..
It's good foresight by KR. He's read the criticism on here and he's learning, so he's brought in the new signing and hoping to bring in the new signing's replacement too 😅

At least they've already gelled.

Are you sure that's what you said?

Let me guess, you now weren't talking about Morton? You're covered, because the statement was intentionally ambiguous..
Blimey is this really what this place is turning in to.

I think for clarity another poster brought up Morton before i did and i added the "Wow" part based on what i heard.i had kept quiet so as not to break a confidence.

with regards my saying not always what you know but who, the footballer in question is a premiership player that has moved into a house that was Owned by a friend of a friend (of mine) and was mentioned to emphasise the point that sometimes it can be a question of who you know.

This window thread, there does seem to be a rather hostile atmosphere and apparent swing to need to prove something a right or wrong which i cannot fathom. This is a forum where people will contribute either with opinion or things they may have heard.
There are people on here with good history but even when they added something there was still several pages afterwards of negativity and this was on incoming and stadium threads.

I have been recovering from a bad illness since October and have neither the will or desire to "invent" some story on a forum to say look at me or count the number of likes.

i have said all along it is the club who should be applauded for identifying the likes of Morton and being in the mix.Whether he joins or not is not really the point, it emphasises the calibre of player we are looking at and hopefully place in the background the derogotory remarks about crocks, no ambition etc. Not to mention those aimed at fellow fans that frequent this forum.

We could definitely do with more wingers (no I'm not KR).
Our current 2, in Browne and Wiildschut and then also Jones if he signs, all fit into the "good when fit but often not" category. If we have all injured at the same time which is not out of to the question, then it really restricts us, especially when chasing a game with subs and especially now we're allowed 5 subs.

Only that Josh Murphy was promised a deal at Reading which then didn't happen. Reading appear to be a shambles at present
He's training with us now
Whether anything will come of it time will tell
We have good form with players Reading don't want, Dickie and Baptiste!

Ok, fair enough. I sincerely hope your recovery picks up and you feel a lot better soon.

I do disagree about the highlighted part though. Surely that's precisely the point? It matters not to most Oxford fans whether we've had a conversation with a big club about signing one of their top young prospects, but whether we actually bring them through the door and they can help OUFC on the pitch.

Ryanio has said on here how we were due to sign Mason Mount and Harvey Barnes on loan for the 17/18 season until Appleton left, which I had absolutely no idea about. I'll be honest, it doesn't give me much comfort knowing we 'almost' signed them!

Much depends on what you as an individual seek or prefer.

it is an incoming window thread and there is input about players who at the time are on our radar, otherwise the thread should be titled "opininons on those already signed" no?.

it's been mentioned a few times that things can and do change with potential transfers, both those who subsequently don't join and those who become available latterly for various eason

On the ifollow video of Wildschut he was asked if he knew any players and he spoke about player that was at Wigan with him… could that be Josh Murphy?

Jeeeeeeez! I know he’s had some issues at his previous clubs, but he is an absolute baller at this level! Direct, tricky, pacy and a reeeeeally strong finisher! If this is a done deal, that could be an excellent signing!

This window is heating up! [emoji3062] All aboard! [emoji590]
