During the post match interview LM was asked about Anderson, and said he was close to returning. When pushed further on other injury situations he just said ‘nothing to report’ or words to that effect. I’d love to see Henry and Bodin contribute in the closing games but it’s looking doubtful. I think we need to be realistic and look to terminate the contracts of Baldock, Bodin and Henry in the summer if at all possible. We need to move towards a more youthful and athletic model going forward.

I don’t think their cases are identical. Bodin in particular has been fit for most of the season. I suspect Baldock will retire at the end of the season though, there doesn’t seem much prospect of him being able to play regularly again.

I’m really excited about our summer. Liam Manning strikes me as the type who will make the big calls that have been needed for a long time and do them amicably with respect to the club and the player. My hope is he will start early, too.

I just pray he’s doing it in L1 where he will have the luxury of retaining what he wants while getting rid of what he doesn’t. In L2 he may have to make cuts and losing players to bigger fish will be a constant concern all summer.

FWIW I’m looking forward to Bodin coming back. I think we’ve missed him

Baldock couldn’t get properly insured when he signed, so there’s little chance of that.

Why would he though unless he gets paid off. He’s got a nice “Karl” contract that runs for next season as well so financially he’d be crazy to pack it in unless he’s financially rewarded.
