You might not be but I was suggesting a way to get his friends and kid's back to football ball , don't need your negative remarks or sad face !!!
Mrs Lounger and I resorted to the "sports bar" one time as we were in need of the loo. Felt obliged to buy a drink and had to endure the dingy and low key attraction of the bar seating. None of the facilities looked very appealing and we departed as quickly as possible. It may suit some but, not us.
I have never been particularly attracted to any of the Ozone establishments although, once upon a time, I went ten pin bowling with a friend. (we were quite serious bowlers with all our own kit and ball) And, we have eaten (that's not quite the right description) at Frankie & Benny's when we still travelled up from Hampshire. Now that is an experience! Will never forget being served an entire bottle of red wine in two plastic pint glasses! "It's cause of the risk of injury, football, and all that innit"
Going to the club shop it has become apparent how run down and neglected the site has become, testament to dear Mr K's mantra of not spending a penny on maintenance?
It is a crying shame that the stadium and surrounding area is such a poor advert for what the club aspires to and the sooner we get out and establish a proper community, entertainment and sporting facility, the better.

Wow wow wow, no Curzon bashing here please. Best cinema experience I’ve had - wash your mouth out sir.
If you enjoy paying £15 to watch a movie while sitting on a sofa with a pint in your hand, you’re going to absolutely love movie night round mine. Ten quid including your choice of trade lager. No girls allowed.

My friend had to remaster their back catalogue, I don’t think he enjoyed it.
Those trips to space command don’t pay for themselves.

Nobody is talking about the most important factor with regards to the game on Saturday. Will the chip shop be able to cope with 1800 away fans on top of the usual sausage crazed regulars? They’re going to be even more surprised than usual when they run out of spuds, despite knowing they just took 20 orders while the queue is still right out the door.

Home win. Taylor to score and run around with his shorts on his head.

I'm not suggesting it's a great place, just a way to try and attract people back to the game. They might not have known about j's bar.

Oh come on @rosieburns , why so tetchy? ....this is a forum, forums are about opinions ( arent they?) .... what is negative about saying something isn't for me and saying why it isn't? .... , and, I did also say 'to each their own'

And, I cant help how my face is, its the only one Ive got ;)

my 11 yo granddaughter comes to some home games with me, (she'd like to go more often too), shes more than happy to come to the 'bird* ( a proper pub) with me, and socialise/sit in on socialising, as in interacting with people- fellow OUFC supporters with pre match chat, and then walk to the ground........ like I said, ( to reiterate), to each their own.

*the 'bird does show various sport in the pub itself btw
Or you could have added as well as the sports bar, there is also the Blackbird with what they have to offer, just a few minutes walk

If/when we leave I can see all those businesses being flattened for housing or related facilities such as a school, they are all fairly crappy and it would make more sense to use the area in other ways. It could become a decent area to live with the rail line reopening and access to good walks around Sandford.

I still like the idea of sharing a few beers out of the back of cars in the car park (I think there is an 'official' name for this?). It has been mentioned before, I think it happens elsewhere, maybe in the States. Although unless I dreamt it I have seen this taking place in the Kassam car park previously. Looked like good fun.

Apologies, wasn't knocking what you said just expressing my (and Mrs Lounger's) impressions of the place. It probably would suit some folk, still in business so I guess it must but, not for us.
The point here is, I guess, that the overall experience of attending a match is not that attractive to families or the more elderly amongst us. It is part of the reason why I volunteered for the Supporter's Panel and the hope is that the match day experience can be improved. I'm hesitant on that part as I believe that no major changes can, or will, be made until the club has a new purpose built stadium. That's not saying we can't change anything but, silk purse and sow's ear etc.

Tailgate party. Went to one in Virginia before a drag race meet when I were a lad. Not a full set of teeth in sight. Plymouth fans would feel right at home.

Putting the match day experience to one side, I think we'll see a good crowd on Saturday, maybe around 9.5k.

Having attended the game at Hillsborough and seeing that fine performance it's now a great opportunity to really kick on with 2 home games

I am looking forward to seeing Kane again who looks a cut above this league and really complements Cam.
