Brexit deadline - your plans

They have dipped from around 170p to 150p....wish I’d sold then and waited.
I think they represent a good buy now, especially as dividends looks likely to be restored next year
Newbie to stocks and shares here enjoy these threads more than the footie at the mo. With the local plan of 28000 new homes in south oxford over next 15 years approved TW look good just in our region alone as they may have a big chunk of another great western park size development in Didcot called Valley Park at some point. They have stripped a layer of middle management and plan to have fewer sites in our region next year though maybe 5 or so inc a big one at Wantage and Newbury.

Who was it who tipped Alba minerals on here was that you Peter? any news its been a bumpy ride so far but looks exciting for next year with assay results on bulk samples due on gold in Wales and graphite in Greenland.

I haven’t tipped Alba.
my portfolio is made up mostly of FTSE 100 and 250.
Although I do hold 20000 Bytrol shares. They specialise in good quality hand gels that were flying off the shelves during lockdown. They also have linked up with TurtleWax to produce an antiviral spray that unlike others doesn’t mark the interior of cars.
Not keen talking about cars atm as my engine warning light came on today

Ah... that was me.

Indeed, as with any miner it is pure speculation until some decent results come through.. sometimes it’s fireworks but of course sometimes it’s who can bail out the quickest.

I generally try to trade the peaks and troughs on the way to news, so that I am de-risking along the way.

I am looking forward to 2021/2022 for some of my speculations. A bit like waiting for the lottery draw 😂. As the banks pump the economy with cash, precious metals seem to respond well. Also, the push to produce electric vehicles, reduce carbon footprint and with the world probably looking to kickstart their economies with infrastructure, copper, vanadium and helium look to be worth a punt.

Patience and nerves of steel required.

I think investors are positioning themselves on Alba, waiting for news. The price has not been too volatile compared to many. A recent placing pushed the price down, which is of course a common theme on AIM companies as they raise investment along the way... I am about 25% down on Alba at the moment but these losses can vanish in the blink of an eye on news. Off course they can do the exact opposite and funds can vanish just as quickly, which is why I try to de-risk where I can.

At the moment I have 20,000 free shares in Anglesey Mining. They have a 6% stake in Labrador Iron Mines, which are reawakening a huge mine massive potential by the look of thing s. Panthera Resources is another where I have traded out my gains to leave 5000 free shares and also Braveheart Investments at 3000 shares, following their recent special dividend announcement, which pays me back investment in full. I am hoping I can do the same with Alba In the next few months.

Some of the more risky investments I’m punting on :-

Panthera - court case In India (outcome pending in January)
Panther Minerals
Bezant Resources
Bushveld Minerals
Rambler Metals
Phoenix Copper
Eurasia Mining (takeover speculation)
Greatland Gold
Helium One

Take a look... but obvs this is just my approach and in no way am I sure which way any of these will really go.. One or two may come through but the rest will probably fail. Although peaks and troughs along the way no doubt.

Gosh! I never knew. Fancy that. Suez, well, well. I see. Hmmm.

And trade, no trade outside the EC? Is that it? And the good folks of the USA will not talk to us anymore? Or even worse, they will become the foe, you say?

I can see it all now. Thank you.

You really ought to get yourself a little bit better informed about all the other nations of the world. They are not fans of the UK - many resent the old Empire we had, and generally, they'l;l put their own interests ahead of the UK's. Not many nations want to go AWOL from international responsibilities and good practice.

And of course you have lived and worked in Europe?

I have. I lived and worked in Brussels for a while. I travelled extensively and learnt to speak French, German, Danish and Norwegian. I understand a fair bit of Italian and Spanish. I worked in the old East Germany shortly after the Berlin wall came down and the borders opened both ways.

We, as in Great Britain, have not had an empire for many, many years but you refer to a resentment of the UK - care to illuminate the rest of us?
When it is about sovereign responsibilities, of course other nations tend to look after their own. And, what makes you infer that the UK is going "AWOL" from international responsibilities? "Good practice" what is that all about?

And just a final note, Suez. Really? Relevance?

If only we could have voted ourselves out of bloody Eurovision instead...!

O

Had a bit of a sell off today... really not sure where the markets are going with this weekend of Brexit uncertainty.. decided to be happy with some profit taking now rather than hold.

If it goes well and the markets bounce... well so be it. I’m still in but with some reduced exposure.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Going by the news over the weekend it looks like you’ve made a good move.
Despite the turbulent week ahead it could be a good opportunity to make profits
