League One Charlton "Fill the Valley"

ST Holders can bring three FREE guests...........

Makes you think about the pressure on the leisure pound and how football can get people back in the grounds.
Aren't crowds in the FL higher than for many years (certainly up to COVID)
The Championship us what 5th most watched league in Europe and L1 attendances are higher than for ages?
Of course clubs will still need to do everything to grow support

We're averaging 7500 per home game this season without playing many of the bigger sides. Stay in and around the playoffs with attractive football and we'll see that average climb beyond 8000 naturally. That's not to say that we shouldn't look to repeat the success of promoting the Morecombe game, but certainly no need to panic and give thousands of tickets away.

I understand not giving away tickets but ST holders bring a friend for £5?

2017/18 Average - 7376
2018/19 Average - 7315
2020- Write off.
2021 - 7,500 to date.

Might be a simplistic view but that is 4500+ empty seats are earning nothing and isn`t growing much despite the League achievements.
Somebody suggested elsewhere having a push for Wigan, Wimbledon, and Cheltenham across the Christmas period and aim for 10k+ for each one.
Now that might happen "naturally" but maybe a marketing push starting before November payday would be a good thing?

Just bouncing ideas..... as they read this place. :) 🤷‍♀️

It’s an interesting idea. Particularly as the club now take the profits on refreshments.
Although that’s another area that could be pushed. The club must lose hundreds of food and drink sales at half-time because there isn’t the capacity to serve enough of the crowd within 15 minutes.
It’s more difficult if you want to buy a beer. Even if you managed to get served within 15 minutes, you’d still need time to drink it before the second half kicks off.

Our " true " average is 6000 - 6500, inflated by two or three five figure gates.

The crowds are well up in Conference/National league.
Stockport regularly get 6k+, Notts Co had 12k last week (Reduced price of £5)
Plenty of 2ks instead of the 800, 900 we often use to see.

No the true average is 7,500. There is no way you can claim any different.
I suspect that at the end of the season if we make the play offs it will be more than that, so the highest for some time
That will include some larger gates and some lower, but will be the average.

We haven't had any five figure home gates this season. We have had three over 8k and one over 9k.

If you want to disregard any higher anomalies, then you want the median, not the average... and this, so far, is 7,045.
