CWC 19 : England V Australia

Stokes gets his 50 ... need him to kick, ok then maybe hop, on, to a score of triple that, and sharpish, next

Add Buttler to the list of idiots!! No need for that at this stage, pathetic. Just a flat track bully!!

Crazy shot selection from Buttler. To call him an idiot is pretty idiotic. The man is clearly talented, and treated us fans to some spectacular innings. Today was a day that he needed to dig in, and re build an innings with Stokes. That’s not Buttlers game!

Need Woakes and Stokes to build another partnership here.

22 overs left ... 125-2 , it aint looking good ... especially with Stokes inability to run

Next The Ashes to add to the disappointment....

The Aussies are desperate for the Ashes. Australia ‘A’ are touring England already as prep whereas we’re preparing by playing Ireland in late July in a warm up as the World Cup has knocked out all of June and early July. I don’t fancy our chances at all in them this year.

Compare the two openers for the sides batting today. Australia rode their luck at times but looked to settle, not score all that quickly and get themselves in. As such, they set something for the players down the order to follow on from. Ours were skittish, nervous and impatient. Vince in particular may have got a decent delivery, but if your team don’t have confidence in you and you know you’re going to be at the crease as a number three or four before the end of the tenth over, that’s going to send the nerves through the rest of the team.

England’s ODI success has been in series against the same side. Preparing for the same team game after game in a five match series is one thing, preparing for a different attack and approach a few days later is very different. We’ve seen the likes of India and Australia adapt well to conditions, styles and scenarios. England’s Plan A is fabulous when it works and fatal when it doesn’t. Same with the Test side at times.

The Aussies have a fabulously fast attack. People criticised their lack of depth but they don’t need a lot when Starc and Cummins are so good.

decent assestment that ^

required run rate just under 8 per over ... do-able? not the way England wickets have gone this afternoon... is there someone batting or yet to bat who has got the ability, capability and confidence to step up and deliver?

heroic 89 from hoppy Stokes ... doesnt look hopeful now ... any real hope went with Stokes

watching/supporting England in Cricket is similar to supporting OUFC .... frustration, stress and occasional joy(but never enough)

TMS basically said it was a good ball to Vince, but a bad shot as well. He just doesn't inspire confidence.

Aussies have done well today and England have largely been dreadful. Their mindset and body language look off at the moment. Time for the big boy pants to come on.

Game Over now Ali gone. Turned it off now!
all but over ... none the less I'll stick it out to the end ( probably wont be long now) C'mon England 'youre supposed to be at home!' !!!

Annoyingly, some better batting up top and England are really in this game. But too many wickets thrown away again

'just' 95 needed off 10 overs... ( with 3 wickets left)
