The Milton Keynes Dons defender has broken the record for the most league appearances for an English club amassing 771 games since the 2004-05 season for the Buckinghamshire club.

The long-serving club captain has now overtaken John Trollope who made 770 appearances for Swindon Town between 1960 and 1980 including 378 consecutive matches.

Congratulations and well done for beating the old record. Another thing Swindon no longer hold.

Doesn't include the 29 games he played for the original Wimbledon too, incredible achievement, shame it's for the plastics.

"Oxford United are pleased to announce the signing of Dean Lewington from MK Dons. Unfortunately Dean tweaked his back getting out of the car when he arrived at Oxford, and is expected to be unavailable for at least a couple of months, and possibly until the end of the season".
