It's not a stretch to say the government should have cancelled flights from India much earlier than it did at the very least. And whilst Delta outbreaks have happened in other European countries, none have been as severe as the UK.

But Australia who have banned incoming and outgoing have also had a case of the delta variant

You could just read the article correctly. This guy is Abderrahmane Fadil, the article says he recovered from Covid in June, exactly when he was on oxygen. It then goes on to talk about Glenn Barrett, the 51 year old who died. They are two different people.
You'll need to look harder for your coercive propaganda.

Just saying that it wasn’t just closing our borders any earlier, the Aussies did but it still got there. Boris should have shut the borders 100% no one in no one out but the problem would have been the human rights groups shouting about freedom of movement irrespective of a global pandemic, then you have the big businesses moaning that they can’t do business if the borders are all closed, also there was the problem at border force not picking up on the fact that Asian sun continent on a red list ( ie having to isolate for 14 days in a government appointed hotel ) flying to a country not on the red list then flying to the U.K.

My missus went to a funeral where a worker from Heathrow told her that a flight of 300 from India had come in and loads were COVID positive, they phoned the police to get them escorted to hotels to quarantine, the police told them it was to many people for them to deal with and to just tell everyone on the flight to go home and isolate for 14 days. I kind of think we could of done a bit better than that at keeping it out/reducing the spread.

Anyway it’s all been fucked up now, just have to wait for the inquiry/cover up to find out how badly/amazingly the government actually did, just going to enjoy going to football again.

The fewer you let in or the quicker you jump on it the better controlled. Sydney’s borderline uncontrolled outbreak came from a chauffeur for airline crews who was out and about. Perth got someone with delta from Sydney resulting in 6 local transmissions but cos we locked down we killed it. Melbourne may well have squashed theirs the same way. Sydney is in strife because they let it spread for 3 weeks.
Bring stringent works. Minimising who you let in and out works.

Unsurprising. I went to Greece last year. Arrive at Greece all entry forms properly checked and recorded, people taken out for covid tests, and some held back for quarantine. Return to UK, completed the form online, but zero checks on arrival that it had been completed, no post arrival checks, passengers from different flights forced to mix, little organisation, checking or distancing. It wasn't the lack of 100% lockdown that was the issue, it was the P**s poor effort at what was put in place.
