Heaven knows what his salary is to drop down two leagues. Mullin was linked with some big L1 clubs

Absolutely ludicrous. He could have walked into pretty much any team he wanted in League One and perhaps the bottom half of the Championship.

Something about it doesn't sit right with me. There's not really any reason for it not to, but it just doesn't. The Wrexham influx of cash I think is 'organic', in that by all accounts the transfer has been funded by the lucrative new sponsorship deals (e.g. TikTok) that the club has attracted after being bought by two (extraordinarily likeable and high profile) celebrities, rather than just having money pumped in unsustainably by faceless billionaires. And obviously the player is free to go wherever he wants. But something about it still just feels a little - I don't really know what the word is - sordid?
