You Tories have such low standards. You're happy to speak admiringly about someone you also think is a liar? I don't understand. I don't particularly associate Thatcher with lying - I think she believed the stuff she said.
I’m not a Tory in any sense of the word. I wouldn’t pin my name to any of the political parties. If you’re Labour are you really happy with Starmer? I’ve no idea what his policies are until his manifesto is revealed. He doesn’t appear to have any idea how to grapple with a crisis that to be fair is not all down to Boris.
I am still puzzled as to how he got off a fine when the picture concerned shows him downing beer in company during lockdown, whilst claiming it was work.

Durham police Labour hardcore voters 🤷‍♂️

Neither have we any idea what the policies of the next PM will be...

All just vacuous, intangible, fantasy soundbites so far.

That won't stop Tory members voting for them in the leadership contest though. I mean they've been living in hope that something one of their leaders says actually comes true for years now....it's worse than religion:ROFLMAO:

In any case, downing a beer was not against the law, if it was done whilst having a meal, whilst on a break from work with work colleagues🤷‍♂️

I guess he could've just downed it whilst he worked. Durham Police investigated it twice and still couldn't find anything to charge him with.

And he did it once, not (at least) 9 times....and I don't recall suitcases of booze being wheeled through the streets of Durham, ABBA playing at full tilt, a child's swings being broken, booze being spilled up the walls, or people chucking up their ring at the work event either.

Party members know who they want but the Parliamentary party will stuff that.

PS: Truss trying to channel the "inner" Maggie was laughable.

The Tory who talks most sense is IDS. He said RS had printed too much money and signed that off. interest rates need to rise and help be given to those who need to use fuel to get to work.
The chancellor is already collecting record amounts of duty despite reducing duty by 5p

I'm not sure why they're showing the debates on TV. Quite frankly, I don't really give a sh*t what they've got to say. We, the Great British public don't get a say in it - unless of course, you're a Tory member that is. For the majority of us - you get what we're given.

Plus as we've learnt from Boris, what they say they are going to deliver, and what they actually deliver are two totally different things.

Surely they could put something better on, like a rerun of Great British Bakeoff or Only Fools and Horses?
I thought it was being rebranded as only fools and conservatives

Watched the second debate on ITV tonight.

Main takeaway was Liz Truss was awful - I have no idea how anyone, anyone, could think she’s a good public speaker. She comes across so poorly.

Tom Tugenhat is my personal favourite but I’m not a Conservative Party member so that doesn’t mean much - but he’s the only one that I would consider voting for (yes yes we don’t vote for the party leader under FPTP)

Speaking of which, it was interesting to see Penny M say our political system is ‘broken’… is she going to bring in PR?!
