Im beginning to think we are the real deal. We have Browne and Edwards to come back, also Murphy who has shown glimpses of being a really top player plus a transfer window. Just got to hang onto everyone and make a couple of shrewd additions.....

TG did an excellent cameo as well. RR MM and CB have got to be one of the best midfields in this division.

What a great pic! Everyone is enjoying Short's actions and it shows a really good spirit within the group and a genuine togetherness, which Manning leaving has probably helped to foster amongst the whole club.

Whoever comes in has an opportunity to work with a committed, talented, capable squad, and if we get the recruitment right in Jan then we will be certainly be there or thereabouts, but there is a long way to go and we have some big games before the window opens (ie Bolton, Posh, Derby).

COYY's!!💛⚽

Seems he was definitely booked against Stevenage, Bristol Rovers, Wycombe and Orient. Some sites have a booking against Lincoln too, although it's not mentioned on some others. (Oddly fotmob have a booking listed for Moore for that game, but it's not mentioned in the match timeline.) But I guess the FA know.

5 bookings in the last 8 league games isn't great if so, but Cheltenham definitely a better one to miss than Bolton say.

Edit - ah I see, some sites have a Rodrigues booking against Lincoln in the 40th minute, others say that was Moore. I vaguely remember confusion over who was booked at the time.

Pretty sure Moore was booked for complaining about a free kick not being given for a foul on - I think - Gregly, during a break in play for a foul on Rodrigues. Not the at Orient were in any way bundling us over here, there and everywhere…!

Moore caught out with both goals.
Set pieces and crosses orients no 12? was blatantly wrap in his arms around Moore and becoming a dead weight.
Happened so often can’t believe the referee didn’t see any, but he got most things wrong.
Just look at the clip of when they hit the post.

This is such a fantastic photo. Someone whack it on a post card to Manning’s new office!!

Could’ve been so very different had we not held on for the win but Short made some brave but decisive changes and that was a group that was completely together yesterday. I wonder whether Manning leaving could end up being one of those things that unites the people at the club in a way very little else could. Super dressing room for someone to pick up, I can’t imagine many better EFL jobs coming up all year. Short & the players did their bit. Over to you, Tim & Grant.

Some of Harris’ movement yesterday was outstanding. Always an outlet for many of Rodrigues’ outrageous, precision passing. Whilst he is not a natural goal scorer, I felt he was generally unlucky yesterday. Definitely with the chip in the second half which was clever, and if he was a metre further back it is an outstanding finish. The save the keeper made in the first half from his chance was brilliant rather than a miss, and whilst he probably should have scored the rebound, it did come back at him quickly at an angle and his least effective foot. Always an outlet and working hard to create options for him and others.

As for Rodriguez, he was outstanding. Earlier on in the season he appeared to be struggling with the different pace of L1 compared to the conference, but not anymore based on that performance. After running the show like he did, he may however not get quite so much space with future opposition (hence Edward’s back would be good - although Mills gets better and better each game). This said, when you are a class act you make space for oneself.

Also a shout out for the tactical nous of Craig Short to put Negru on to nullify the high ball on our right from Orient as they started to gain momentum in the last half an hour.

And finally, what support. Loudest I’ve heard our support on iFollow for sometime. We’ve set the benchmark extremely high and hope we can maintain it because that really must have helped the players!!

Just watched back the Lincoln booking on ifollow - it seems clear that it was for Moore, in that he was having a right go at the ref for not stopping play for a head injury. Rodrigues comes over right at the end, Moore walks away, and then the ref shows a yellow more in the direction of Rodrigues than Moore, hence the confusion, The commentary assumed - rightly I think - it was for Moore, but other places (e.g. oufc twitter) gave it as Rodrigues.

I think Harris needs to be given a bit of a break today, if he wasn't getting in the right places, I'd be worried, but the guy has just had 4 clear-cut chances, being denied by the keeper twice, and the bar twice. It WILL drop for him

He could have easily let his head drop after that first chance, which he really should have scored, but instead, the lad kept going and kept making the right runs.

We do need another striker in January, but I'm also confident that Harris will hit double figures this season
I’m sorry but his record to date at any club does not suggest this. He is not a natural goal scorer.

Today we got away with it because Orient aren’t that good. His miss (two misses) when it was 0-0 when Mills set it up on a plate for him was unbelievable. In the games coming up v Bolton Peterborough Pompey he has to take those chances

He could be the difference between automatic promotion or not.

We need a top quality striker in the January window, and I mean first week of January.
