Current Player #8 Cameron Brannagan

Really bizarre and personal post to make!!

Fancy that - the expert in playing the man doesn`t like it when the table turns.

Anyway - knocks and injuries are part of the game, he`s got a week to recover.

He`ll be alright.

I hope he plays but wasn’t he seen wearing a boot going out suggesting something a bit more than a swollen ankle?

Just had a look and it surprised me to see that Cam is actually underperforming his xG, he actually should've had 12.1 goals. Can't remember him missing any pens but all the long shots must count for something

Every window I think he'll leave, but now I'm not sure.

If he's being paid a Championship wage to play in L1 then it's pretty cushty. He's loved and settled here and is never really under pressure.

Unless he's offered a huge financial package or wants to test himself in the Championship before he gets too old why would he leave?

As someone who had ankle issues when playing and having rolled my ankle regularly as Des quoted was the problem, I think he will be fine.

It can be very painful and sore and will swell up, but once the swelling goes down and knowing the type of character that he is I am sure he'll play through it.

Yes, that .1 of a goal is very important!! What a load of rubbish.
The thing is it's the very fact that Cam is prepared to have a shot that his shots to goals conversion rate is lower.
Teams who feast on xg try to walk the ball in and consequently have less shots from distance or tighter angles. I don't want Cam deterred from shooting because of an arbitrary stat.
Xg on its own doesn't tell us much but combined with other stats such as xgot, xa, xp it has more credibility.

Do we still use the game ready machines?

It also always brings a smile to my face when posters try and compare professional sportsman’s injuries to their own (that isn’t a dig either) considering Cam will be able to do top rehab that us average joes don’t get.

Cam will also play 80% fit and I’d prefer that in the next 2 games and get points on the board then rest him against Stevenage and Exeter if we do get the points needed.

Which reminds me, I strained my Quad whilst doing a training session back in January and it is still niggling me now, so I completely get what Will Goodwin is going through. His experience as a pro footballer is directly relatable to what a 50 year old runner goes through when pushing harder than is advisable. No way he'll be running freely before August, assuming he is being sensible with his 'frozen peas on the injury' rehab routine.
