Current Player #11 Billy Bodin

Why shouldn't in house count? We still pay them a wage and they still are part of the squad. And both had injury problems before signing pro terms.

Because signing a youngster to their first pro contract is typically really, really cheap. And early in their careers their potential value is at its highest.

So you are always going to do it if the player has talent, because the financial risk is low and the reward is potential great (about 3 mil, as it turned out, in Shandon's case.....although Brentford may have some buyer's remorse when it comes to purchasing players with a long injury history. Not that they're going to miss the money now!)

We have signed both to good contracts even after their injury problems.

You can't beat having a few corpses and fictional characters in your team can you?

Well, didn’t expect him to be much cop in all honesty but he looks a bit of a maverick, Maguire & Ricky Holmes ilk. Think he’ll play a good part if we can get him fit. Clearly not got blistering pace but his footwork & speed of thought was excellent and should have had a goal if Whyte had a left foot. Impressive

Yeah, I liked the look of him.

What was his stuff that you didnt see like, and that?

Clearly very talented player. Really hope he can stay fit. Seems to be ideal for breaking down teams who are sitting back when we're dominating possession. It was difficult for him as momentum had swung away from us when he came on and we couldn't really get the ball to him in dangerous positions. He doesn't seem to have much pace so counter attacking and running away from players was going to be hard for him.

Very similar to Henry, but less suited to playing a deeper midfield role. He will have an impact when playing on either side of Matt Taylor.

I’ve spoken to a few people that went to the game on Saturday, and all of them thought when Bodin came on he did really well, and you could see he will be a useful player for us.

Brendon Batson WBA, one of the 'three degrees' with Regis and Cunningham.

He's been brilliant since he came in. Has (I guess) shown the upside of signing loads of attacking players, meaning that there's always a potential match-winner to come in when you have injuries. He's filled the place of Henry very well, with goals, assists, and creative play.
