EPL Chris Wilder to leave Sheff Utd!

"History means nothing." 🙂

He could be the ideal manager for an ugly town bursting with resentment at living in the shadow of Middlesboro, an ugly, over-sensitive manager who thinks he's not been recognised properly.

The most Middlesbrough-esque appointment you could ever imagine.

It’s the sort of move you would expect that Wilder would have been holding out for too.

Wilder is essentially Warnock junior, they are getting a younger version of the man they sacked. Given a bit of time he could well get them up and Middlesbrough are not sack happy, seems harder and harder to get past the parachute payment boys though especially looking at this season.

Wonder whether CW has moved a day early....what with the Norwich job now available and villa potentially following suit this week too?

Why would you hire Wilder to keep you in the PL ? He’s the last person a PL chairman hoping to avoid relegation will want after being routed at that bottom for the entire season with Sheffield United.

The blunt and boring truth is that Allardyce probably remains the stand out candidate to dig you out of the mire Norwich are in. He didn’t manage it at WBA but sooner or later he was going to fail somewhere. Pearson and Warnock perhaps the only other two who thrive in relegation battles.

He did a good job for the first few seasons though!

You’d hope this is good news for us. Wilder has been welcomed back to the club in recent years and you’d imagine KR has got to know him a little in that time. Some useful loan deals could be a handy thing - particularly if Wilder were to get them up in a year or two.

Meh.

We'll be a division above them next season.
