Championship Derby in trouble

How many of the relegation team are still there? They had some good young players, they could well be in a stronger position than those other teams.
The following professionals are still there - number of league appearances last season in brackets

Max Bird (42)
Krystian Bielik (15) Out injured majority of season
Nathan Byrne (41)
Eiran Cashin (18) Signed New Contract
Jason Knight (38)
Louis Sibley (26)
Jack Stretton (9) Out injured majority of season
Liam Thompson (23) Signed New Contract

In Training/Offered New Deals:
Curtis Davies (46)
Craig Forsyth (26)
Colin Kazim-Richards (23)
Richard Stearman (14)

Apart from the 22+GK rule, is there still a limit of x% of turnover that can be spent on the squad?

Perhaps this should be restricted further for clubs for the first couple of seasons after coming out of admin.....?
There is something yes, though trying to find the details of it, is practically impossible.

Whilst every club that exits administration has to agree a business plan and has set limits on spending (presumably at stricter levels than the other clubs in the division). But obviously for a bigger club like Derby - and this is guesswork, that might just prevent you having an average salary of say £12k, and instead limiting it to £8k. Which for L1 levels probably isn't an issue, and doesn't seem to be given their signings so far.

Funny how Derby want the rules to apply all of a sudden when it suits them...

There is a thing called "Just Cause" and "Sporting Just Cause" which give players a lot of leverage when it comes to contracts.
He could argue that Derby's financial position impacted his circumstances “with regard to his legitimate aspirations to develop his skills and advance in his professional career.” And that is proven in case law at CAS.
Can`t see them winning that but if they do the money should go to creditors only.

Looks like there will only be two promotion spots up for grabs this season, with what they already have and the standard of players being bought in they will go straight back up. Competing with Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday for those spots is going to be hard.

It’s nice to see big clubs come down as we get to play them but it does make getting out of this division harder and harder, that play off loss to Wycombe and the loss of income it caused seems worse with every season.

I'm not so sure.

Hourihane has averaged 26 games a season over the last 3 seasons, Chester 23 games over the last 4 seasons.
McGoldrick has averaged 27 games for the last 3, scoring a total of 12 league goals, albeit in the Prem and Championship, he's 34 too.

Can't see them playing 40+ games next season, and hopefully they won't have clicked for the first game.
