Flag Gate.............. the thread.

So then you are confirming that United Flag Designs support selling tickets significantly above face value. Person in question responded to the advert on the UFD page and was quoted said price by the company, whoever bought the original tickets is irrelevant if you agree to sell them at such inflated prices through your company.

Facilitation is not transactional....... :)

I introduce you to someone who cleans my windows, he then cleans your windows.... I have no transactions.

I think you made the right decision in giving this it's own thread, Essex. It declutters the Takeover thread and enables us to ask questions to the "company" in question. Hopefully the Mods feel the same and won't remove it.

I have a few questions to ask to @Junior_1 , hopefully he will respond with appropriate answers.

1) How are your flags made? Do you personally make them, or do you outsource to another company?
2) If you outsource to another company, are your customers aware of this?
3) If you outsource to another company, which company?
4) Do you charge your customers more than what the outsourced company do? Are they aware of this? If you do charge more, why?
5) Are you a registered company?
6) Are your nephews still involved in operations?
7) I don't think there is any evidence that the OUFCSP is using his "personal issues" to encourage fans against your business. Looking from the outside in, it looks like that fans are being taken advantage of when they could purchase the flags directly from the supplier - and for the cheaper. Of course, the fans may know this, and if they do then there is no problem with them using your services. I think it's key to determine if they know this or not though.

I feel that all my questions that I have put forward are not out of turn, and hopefully Junior provides suitable replies.

1-4 pretty obvious that UFD are facilitators for which they take a cut.
5 - don`t need to be.
6 - don`t know.
7 - Caveat emptor.

I disagree with a lot of what @Junior_1 says and the way he comes across, but why should he have to answer those flag questions?

He's making some extra money selling Ox flags to fans, there is clearly a gap in the market so what's the problem? If people don't shop around then that is their problem, if someone has ordered a flag and are unhappy with anything then I'm sure they'll contact him but that is their business. If there were any trademark issues then the club would take action etc.

The OUSP member jumped pretty quickly on to this on the original thread, and took it upon himself to speak to people that had bought flags? All seems a bit over the top to me, fair enough if he wants to set up a way of selling flags that the club benefits from. But was there any need to get involved with people that had already bought flags? Why not simply set up a way of selling flags that the club benefits from, why reference Junior's sideline? That did make is seem a little personal to me.

Unfortunately not the same scenario, you are not a company advertising goods or services. Although saying that, I think it's clear UDF is not a registered company either and perhaps should not advertise as such to avoid HMRC complications in future

There’s obviously a gap in the market for bespoke flags. The club mostly sell mass produced identical flags. Their affiliate terrace designs do small runs of a particular merch like mugs or bags. Barmy flags are the only other flag company I’ve heard of and last time I looked several years ago they looked overpriced and a limited range.

If people are happy to pay a price for a product , they like it , and it saves them the hassle of arranging it all themselves I don’t see the issue.

If I wanted some limited edition adidas on my size I wouldn’t want all the hassle of tracking them down etc.

I think these days the youngsters call it a “side hustle”.

Fair enough.
Do you think it's alright for United flag designs / Junior to be making a profit on away matchday tickets? Personally I think that is bang out of order. Regardless if like he said, was selling it on behalf of someone else.

What if the person in question did not make a profit and purely introduced the willing seller to the willing buyer?

No I think that is out of order, even if selling on behalf of a mate.

If I'd have been in that scenario I'd have told my mate to stick it.

Questionable, I think there's a gap in the market for football fans on social media who can't find a list of companies on a Google search or are too busy to do any research. Most of which will offer cheaper rates, custom designing and higher quality end product. Absolutely nothing wrong with going down either route, but also nothing wrong in fans alerting other fans looking for custom flags who the best and worst companies to contact. Certainly some offer better customer service, morality and are trusted registered companies.

For those interested, here are a list of trusted sites to use:

The Kings of flags, you pay a higher rate but receive high end materials and experienced designers to help you create your perfect flag.

Cheap, lower quality but offer a large range of options

Newer company specialising in custom football flags, few options available.

If you require something easy to fold and travel with, go for a printed banner/flag.
If you want a higher quality and better looking flag, go for a sewn flag, these will be expertly sewn and will cost extra, but stand out on a matchday.

We ordered a lot of materials back in the day from Ultrasshop, based in Poland. They were kind enough to offer us generous discount on repeat orders, they still ship to the UK but this is going to be a little more expensive now following Brexit.

Last comment on all this. After which, speak to my PA!

The x2 Wimbledon tickets weren’t mine to sell as I’m sure ash if he posts on this will confirm. Sold on behalf of a friend. His price, his choice. Very complicated but is all backed up.

I sold mine for face value. Again, all backed up. That should all be known to the people suggesting otherwise.

Hi.

Since I’ve been brought in to this I’d like to clear up some details.

I paid £70. £35 a ticket for Wimbledon away tickets as it sold out & it was a new ground. I purchased these through United Flag Designs. I had no issue paying this price even though it was £26 over face value.

However, it comes to my attention recently the person you sold these tickets for… you paid for these 2 tickets off him at face value at £22 a ticket. He’s confirmed that today.

This wasn’t something I was planning on getting involved in but I’m good friends with @WuTang so it had to be said.

Would you be allowed to put the old Ultras flags at the back of the East Stand for the new generation to pick up and use at games? I'm guessing the club would work with someone on this these days? The atmospheres at home this season have been dismal (in my opinion)

Doing a SE - but I’ve responded via Pm to leave names and details out of it. Your call if you want to make it public.

£35 for £22 tickets!

Call me mad but I had no issue paying £70 for a pair of Wimbledon tickets as it was a new ground for me.

I've spoken to one of the new lads about the old flags, the majority of banners are probably beyond use and rotting away now. There might still be some waving ones inside the ground but I'm unsure on that one. I only have our official 2/3 group banners but I've put them in long term storage as they are sentimental to quite a few.

I will have to have a rummage through once I find the time and see if any are still useable, would be happy to pass over a few if possible!

It is entirely up to you whether you were happy to pay it or not. The point is though that you should never of had to have a choice of paying that amount of money!
Morally it is bang out of order for a fellow fan to make any profit out of one of our own.
This is the first time I’ve actually seen this sort of profiting happening amongst our fan base and for me personally, it doesn’t sit well with me at all.

Could build a proper business re-selling tickets, make it all legit unlike the old spivs in Trilby`s and cashmere coats.

I`m off to start the new online re-selling store..............................
