Winnall has played more and scored more in the last 12 months! Plus Sinclair was offered a decent deal to sign for the 19/20 season and turned us down. There's your why nots.

At the time he was on Watford's pay scale whilst on loan to us so obviously we could not afford him then and he would not have been prepared to accept such a huge drop in salary. However, things are different now and it might be worth a punt.

I agree now things are different he is without a club we could sign him if KR wanted to thatbis until the end of the season on a reasonable wage with the view if he performs and shows commitment, a new improved contract. But he would have to be almost ready to go. And not come in a la Winnall but more or less ready to go if the need arises.
But no way could we afford him when he was on loan to us if Watford paid 4 million for him there is no way Watford would have taken a palfrey offer without recouping some of their loss.
I can't see us signing him as we could sign him now and use the time to get him up to fitness.

It was a loan deal and we offered a greater percentage of his wages but he refused to sign. We can do a lot better than Jerome Sinclair as a player and a person.

He took the Belgium offer more fool him. I only mentioned his name as he was a free and it would have been a case of “ only if “ which would have been a more or less for Jerome Sinclair. But yes we can do better but is there much better going to be available in January? People are on about Norwood but he looks like he has issues, so I hope our recruitment have identified a couple of targets.
On Ryan Williams, I wonder if he sees returning to Oz would put him in a better position to try and make a push for the national team. He mentioned it as a target not long after signing for us.
He's done ok in his time here, but he's suffered from two very good wingers who I don't think anyone would have thought would come available becoming available, and the excellent form of Sykes in the RW position. Same with Bodin. Williams out with a more specialised left sided winger coming in would be a good move for all parties IMO if indeed Williams does want to leave.

If he was good enough in 19/20 for us to offer him a ‘decent’ deal then he’s surely likely to still be good enough now? Presumably he would take a much lower offer now. I don’t think we should start treating players like a jilted lover…

Though he won't have played since about May and presumably not trained properly either. He might be fat.

Since his loan to us when he scored 4 in 16, he has played 41 games (in The Netherlands and Bulgaria) and scored once. No thanks....
