Does that mean nobody likes the Prittster (as Boris calls her) any more?

Is she the next one for the high high jump, even though Boris was urging Tories to close ranks and protect her in the bullying debacle not so long ago.

Mind you, she's probably toast anyway if she loses the latest JR against her and they support the initial findings of the investigation into the bullying claims.

Anyway...back on the subject. Just reading the comments associated with that video makes you realise just what a hateful angry and scared/paranoid little mob it is that support the views espoused.

It wouldnā€™t look good for this government if they stopped these people coming. ā€œGotta have some migrants coming in boats so that we can keep up the bs of there being a swarm when there is a trickleā€

Glad weā€™re not like Poland or Belarus then

Probably oversimplified but...........

1- Illegal immigrants - return to previous safe country, in this case France.

2- Refugees - claim asylum anywhere in the EU then follow the legal migration process to the destination of choice.

3- Legal migrants, following the correct channels, let them in once properly processed.

Too simple?
If someone wants to leave France, why should the French be compelled to stop them? Itā€™s a country, not a prison!

The only way to stop migration is to take the difficult long view and tackle the problem at its route source.

People migrate because of:

War
Poverty
Oppression
Authoritarianism
Climate Change
Persecution

You donā€™t solve any of that by cutting foreign aid, isolationism, cutting ties with your neighbours (weakening them in the process), shafting allies in the Middle East, proxy wars, economic conflicts.

Itā€™s not something that will ever be solved with our current ā€œgovernmentā€

It wonā€™t be solved by any government

Solved is probably the wrong word. There will always be conflict somewhere. But a return to a greater world stability is achievable through good political cooperation. Something the odd choice of leaders democracies have been voting in recently, seem to be dead against!

The challenges the world faces will not be ā€œsolvedā€ by the likes of Boris Johnson, Donald Trump, Viktor OrbĆ”n, Andrzej Duda or Ɖric Zemmour,

Canā€™t see what Biden ornStenernwill do either and Macron well the mats a different story.

War is peace.

Having seen the programme on Ed Balls working with the carers tonight, I canā€™t help thinking we should be spending far more on looking after our elderly and disabled instead of allowing so many migrants in here.
It seems barbaric putting razor wire up as in Poland, but Iā€™ve no idea what alternative can be used to stop them coming in.
A terrorist threat in Liverpool ends thankfully with a deluded migrant dead. At least we donā€™t have to look after them in prison.
This country still seems to be a soft touch with so many here out to attack the people who live here

Why not do both?
Exactly what I was thinking

This is after all chicken feed compared to the Ā£38 billion spunked on a failed test and trace package.

Last night's programme estimated that social care needs an extra Ā£10billion a year to get it on an even keel. So nearly 4 years of social care for the cost of T&T.

How much do we spend trying to manage illegal migration each year, I wonder?

Ā£54million extra "given" to France recently to stop the boats launching (although we haven't actually given them all of it yet). And the French will tell you that the boats are ever more numerous and also bigger of late. Same proportion of boats are being stopped but bigger numbers are getting on the water as a result.

How much else do we spend on prevention each year?
