General Stadium Petition - Signatures Needed

More petition collecting going on today? Plenty of folk who might sign.

Are OxVox collecting signatures around the ground again today? 1,700 different away supporters to tap up for signature and I’m sure they’ll be plenty of home fans that didn’t attend last week that could sign it. @Paul P can you confirm?

Excellent work to date btw! I’m a recently signed up member to OxVox and thank you for your efforts regarding the stadium move in particular.

I reckon you could massively increase oxvox membership by only giving itk Intel to oxvox members :)

D-

Very poor trolling. Standards are slipping.

What’s the point of building an 18,000 seater stadium when your current ground holds 12,500 and your average gate this season has been 7,600? It’ll make you look even more tinpot than having a car park for a stand.
Sometimes you can try to hard. See @Seasider53 for tips on how to wind people up without them realising, whilst amusing others watching on.

Because not only are our board looking at building this stadium they will also fund us to get up to the Championship or even the premiership if they really wanted to. As you know success on the pitch will bring us more fans like it does every other club. 18k is about right considering we've had two games over 10k in a row in league one and with a bigger stadium we can allocate more than 1700 to the away fans. It's not like we're building an mk stadium at over 30k is it so I don't get your point. You've just made yourself look a bit silly but then that's nothing new coming from Leeds. 😴😴

Yes, we need more signatures to push us beyond the current 5,030 odd.
The link is https://you.38degrees.org.uk/p/StadOUFC if anyone is in doubt.
If you haven't signed please do so!

Our experience at the Sheff W match was that, not surprisingly, many had already signed online and there is an element of diminishing returns - despite that we took 750+ new signatures which are included in the current total. Keep them coming. We didn't repeat the exercise at the Pompey match, because we're targeting the Bolton match this week.

The County Council survey consultation is key. Note that it closes on February 21.

How about targeting fans of our opponents? There are thousand of them especially when we’re away, most of whom are unlikely to have signed.

I dont know if @OxVox have already been in contact with OUFC 'friendly' pubs and the like in the Oxford & wider area as yet

(hopefully so)

.....- thinking, for instance, The Masons Arms , Quarry, Ampleforth Arms, Risinghust for example ( The Blackbird on matchday, maybe The George & Catherine Wheel in Littlemore/ Sandford on matchday too?) - of course, there are many others too- Pubs that run minibuses/coaches to Wembley finals etc- where if the landlord/lady was furnished with a paper petition more supportive signatures from pub regulars, many of whom have given their occasional support to Oxford United , and could perhaps add their names to the total?

Understand what you mean about diminishing returns but as @chuckbert says why not target away fans if they bring over say 1k ?

I know its easy for me to say, but a couple of volunteers on away end duty for any match where the away
team brings significant numbers like Portsmouth seems a good opportunity. Do you happen to know roughly
how many Sheff Wed fans signed ? If its only a handful forget it but if its worth a couple of hundred...

Yes, we found Owls fans were very receptive, for example, and some signed and there were good conversations around the collective experiences clubs have had.

Perhaps someone could post a link on the Forums of other clubs? (With a few exceptions of course!)

Thinking on the fly on this one Sarge, encouraging online rather than paper signups is best so everything is in one place. We have a supply of the small slips of paper giving the petition URL that some of you may have found in your programmes the other week, if we deposit some in pubs that may be the way forward?

take your point re it being better if signed 'online' .... that said I do think if OUFC friendly pubs were contacted , most would be happy to have a paper petition 'on the bar' (so to speak) , making it easier, and a spur of the moment decision for those who would be happy to add their name, but without going to any extra 'trouble', to the petition, while having a beer in their local

thus swelling the numbers/ signatories in the process

Petitions gain more support Id've thought, if put under the nose of potential supporters- those who are not regulars or occasionals at home games who should already be aware of the online petition ( & consultation document), but are 'in favour' having been to a couple of Wembley finals with OUFC- as in a paper petition with pen attached, the easier it is to add their name, the more likely many more people will add their support to the cause
