Listening to Zaki on RO yesterday after the match regarding signing of Matty Taylor. It seems that the Board were not quite prepared or organised to make last minute signings. Zaki was on a plane and it sounded like they were running around (or WhatsApping around) trying to contact other members of the board.
Surely on transfer deadline day they should all be readily available to discuss any occurrence (in or out) at a moments notice.

Possibly. He was telling a little anecdote on a talk radio show - I wouldn’t get too concerned about it. I’m sure the story has been added to a little over the years.
