I think posters are a bit unfair on Obika. To me, he just appears not fully fit. He has played with some heavy strapping, and he seems to preserve his energies, and not close down, for example. Given that he came with a reputation for being injury-prone, it may well be that he is struggling. So I would not want him as a first-choice striker, but for other reasons.

Even though his exclusion from the list suggests he is under contract, The Herald lists Agboola as being out of contract in the summer:

The only mention of him signing a contract I can find is from last summer.

Bit off topic (maybe) but I love this time of year. 8th in the form tables, with at least two of those above us in the form table leaving the division. Feeling optimistic about players we will sign to replace the dead wood we're letting go...

If we can avoid losing our captain, two top scorers and manager in the off-season then I'm looking forward to next year already!

I think we are. He is under 24 so as long as we have offered a contract we will get compo.

I think so too - but it won't be much.

The compensation is for training and development, but most of that was done by Man U. We've been more like a finishing school for Rothwell.

Suspect 100-150k would be the ceiling.

I think Karl Robinson has echoed the thoughts of most on here by releasing the eight players.
I’m actually pleased Ricardinho is staying on for another year as we will get the best of him under KR.
And recalling Hemmings a great idea. Cost the club a wedge and has done well on loan.
Mehmeti disappointed, and Thomas although he has had a few goals has been injury prone. Hopefully he will find a fresh challenge somewhere else.
I’m sure Obika will be better after close season.
There has been a significant improvement since KR managed the club. I can’t believe how quickly he has acted in getting this club moving again.
Just waiting to see what changes to the backroonm staff will be made

One small point richardinho isn’t yet staying for another year. He’s been offered a one year deal he hasn’t I don’t think yet accepted it.

A worry is if Ledson goes, as we’ve had a recent policy of selling an asset or two a year

The squad is still large if we are to bring in 10 more players? I would think that one keeper, one CB and possibly Obika will still be off (we have 4 keepers and 5 CBs?

Maybe Kelleher and one of the youth keepers will be loaned out, but are we going to keep two young keepers (plus a couple coming through the youth team)?

Exeter's Ampadu, who was with Exeter since u10, made his first team debut for them at 15 - Chelsea sign him and he has played first team games this season already - the tribunal set compo at £1.2m up front. Max another £1.2million if he makes a lot of appearances and becomes an international. Chelsea already value him after 1 season in 8 figures...

You’re not wrong. If it was down to me, I wouldn’t want to keep either, but I was really, really not a fan of Hemmings when he was here and his record at Mansfield doesn’t make me want to reconsider that.

I think Faz was well aware of Riccis contract situation and was instructed or did not want to tie any incoming manager with a player they may not have wanted.

I think there was more to worry about at the time than what an incoming manager might have inherited. Play your best team, then worry.

Never thought that it was exactly a policy..nobody wants to sell their best players but if the right offer comes in and you have the talent which attracts attention in the 1st place..KR has said no good club should be selling and how many times did DE say players not for sale until the players wanted out like Lunny and MJ.
