General New Stadium Plans - Stratfield Brake

Whose assuming planning will be easy and foundations will be laid in the next few weeks?
It probably won't be a straightforward box-ticking exercise, but I think councils in general are quite bored of nimbyism and are quite happy to to overrule local worries if there's a big development deal to be done.

In sure this stadium relocation with its leisure facilities could bring a lot of money into the area, and also be a good employment opportunity for the residents of Kidlington once everything's built.

Just put sustainable, carbon neutral and no car provisions on the planning and it will be approved 😁

If we are providing sports facilities to teams thar play there currently could that mean these facilities could be used by the university's freeing up land like the iffley Road complex?

I should imagine the big selling point for the council will be the chance to put housing on the current grounds site, already a residential area so it will be easy to get through.

Classic council "consultation" timeframe when the brown envelopes have already been delivered.
"Well we invited you to a Teams meeting with a weeks notice, sorry you couldn`t make it but we decided that.................."

I guess its how it works when the power players move in - Mrs Smith and her Great Crested Newts just get steamrollered..... capitalism at its finest. :)
Disappointed EY ( I know you want to stay at the Kassam) !!

This is a possibility but the question was more to do with Bazzer's comment about people on here and implication of foundations being laid soon.

0.6 miles from Oxford Parkway to Stratfield Brake which Google Maps says is a 12 minute walk as thingsare now.

A crossing/footpath across the land on the left of the Banbury Road (or Oxford Road as its show there) would reduce that.Screenshot_20220109-211139_Maps.jpg
