Ex Player Ryan Williams

Surprised this went under the radar. But not surprised that he's heading home. The rumoured interest in January suggested there was perhaps a desire to move back.

Bit of a shame, not a first 11 player but a rock solid squad member who can cover a few positions with decent levels of success and seems to have a great attitude. Can't begrudge him a chance to move home closer to his family though, hope it works out for him.

Good luck to him and his family.

Now, OUFC, give us something to get excited about, please.

Good Luck, Ryan, a very good Professional. I suppose the draw of his home town club was too good to miss out on. Decent of OUFC not to stand in his way.

We definitely need a really good Right Wing Back / Right Back now. I would like to see a really good attacking right back in with Long and Forde as cover.

A good deal for all concerned I think. Wish him all the best, never gave less than 100% and very versatile.

Good move for all involved I think.

Whilst I rated him and he always left it all out there, I think this may push KR to sign a new specialist RB/RWB.

Certainly a decent, hardworking right wing back / winger who would have been a nice squad player to have at League One level. I’m not pleased to see him go but good business by the club to sign him on a free then sell him for a bit of cash.

Also can’t blame him for wanting to move over there, I would do the same if I could!

I would expect a signing announcement today.

This has obviously been done before today, as Ryan has done his photo shoot in the Perth kit, so the fact it's been held back until today tells me we've probably done that for a reason.

Good player, who never let us down, so interested to see who replaces him.

Possibly indicates why Forde signed an extension before the season ended?

The Williams to return down-under rumour was many, many months ago and I’d assume the player and club were clear on this a long time ago - it’s not like he’s just moving up the M40 after all!

Perhaps that triggered the club into resigning Forde as a back-up RW/RWB for the club.

I’m fine with that if so, although I’d personally still want a RB to challenge Long.

I think its a good move for him, league one is his level and we would need an upgrade if we were to get to the Championship, just means we now need to sign a RWB aswell, Forde and Long aren't the answer!

Not sure it's a photoshoot. More of a photoshop. But yes clearly not a sudden move out of nowhere.

Disappointed to see him go. His versatility, ability and commitment were attributes we all admired. Hey, we may well bring in a better player but some comments about it not being a great loss as a bit of a disservice. He was a decent, hard working pro who contributed well to us.

Heading back to Perth seems a logical move. A family network and growing family suggest he wants to put roots down somewhere and - who knows - playing well in the A-League may well see him with an outside chance for a World Cup squad place for the Socceroos.
