General Kidlington Parish Poll

The voting hours for the poll are from 4pm till 9pm. No ID no Voting Card required, just take yourselves to your polling station and you will just need to tell the officials who you are and where you live. They will tick you off and issue you with a ballot form put a cross ❌ in the YES box and place in designated ballot box. The polling station you will use is the same one you uses today, if you postal voted for todays vote you may not be sure of the polling station, so I will place the postcode checker where you vote in the next post.
It would be nice if no one else commented on this thread so these three post will stay visible. The vote is for Kidlington residents only.

Congratulations Danny, well done. I'm sure you'll represent Kidlington well on all issues.

You do have a target on your back now though, the Lib Dem/Green coalition will be gunning for you. Don't let them bully or intimidate you (I'm sure you won't), we've got your back, brother! ✊🤘

I worked with a member of Kidlington Cricket Club. They were fully behind United getting Stratfield Brake as part of the plan was to relocate them to a proper facility with everything they could want, a properly looked after ground and the opportunity to earn money from their own clubhouse. The extra income would enable them to grow and give the kids of Kidlington a chance to enjoy Cricket. FoSB, have now screwed that so the club has no chance of growing.

Nowhere near what they could have had, but aren't the club offering to improve/maintain the pitches (including I presume Rugby and Cricket included) on SB as part of the deal for The Triangle?

There's rumours of the Cricket club moving to a new development behind the moors, not sure what that would mean for Stratfield brake, maybe Councillor Wright could give his opinion on this

I think if the 2040 Cherwell plan is looked at in the right way and not blocked by KDW and FOSB there may be a way to mo

Hi Headley early days but my understanding is the 2040 Cherwell plan will be published in July. The cricket club as I understand it wants to move to a site behind the church and has wanted to for some time. For this to happen I would expect there to be houses proposed to be built behind the Moors as part of the deal. We need housing for the residents of Kidlington and Cherwell. The cricket moving off Stratfield Brake would free up significant space for more pitches. It seems on the face of it a no brainer but I would expect significant opposition from those pulling up the drawbridge behind them. Watch these spaces. I need to meet and understand where the cricket and other sporting clubs stand on all this. I understand the running club currently use the cricket area as well so they may be impacted. Hope this helps
Edit: Of course the spanner which now might be in the works, is the Cherwell plan may now change significantly due to the change in power at Cherwell DC. It will be interesting to see if it does or whether the councillors now representing the district decide to go in a different direction.
