General Cashless Ticket Office

Today I attempted to pay for parking in Banbury using the Apcoa app. 3 attempts, 3 failures. I’ve used the app before in the same car park because you can’t pay with cash.
I don’t like this so called service, because when it works you pay £1.10 for an hours parking, but they add on a 20p ”convenience charge”. Rip off. also, a lot of elderly people don’t use smart phones.

Have you ever been stuck at the tills, when someone's half a dozen bank cards don't work , cash is quicker.
I can't keep track of what I'm spending , when you keep going ping..
Plus having everything all on your phone, to me is dodgy. Especially with all the phones I keep losing. Your carrying your life around with you in your pocket..

Have you every been stuck at the tills while someone faffs around with cash? Meanwhile a quick tap of a card and you're away.

There are always stories about the beggers turning up in BMW's or Big Issue sellers earning more than Erling Haaland! All are corroborated by some bloke in the pub who knows it for a fact because his mate saw him wiping his a**e with a twenty!!

Ive been stuck behind someone at the till, while they're faffing about with their phone, replying to messages or something, instead of paying with their banking app .... cuts both ways doesn't it ?

Of course it does. I'm just disputing that cash is always quicker or more convenient.

I was in our local Chinese a few weeks back and saw a fella pay by cheque, now that took a bit of time...

You don't know you're born. I paid with letter of credit for a meal for 16 (or so) in Beit Mery; big debate over DDP and DPU but we got it done. Lucky it was lunchtime, though.

was there a dispute ? .... its about choice isn't it? -( and in the case of OUFC ticket office - if/ when there's a glitch in the shonky software system ) If cashless doesn't work/ stops working, without the option to pay by cash , what happens? ( nothing IMO, -up s**t creek )

If the computer systems go down you won't be able to pay by cash as the club will not be able to function, the whole admin side will be run off it. I think when the systems have gone down before they just shut the ticket office and club shop down in the past, was a week day.

Still don't get what's so great about having the option to pay by cash? Take away the IT systems breakdown, what difference does it make to you, now that you know that you have to take your debit card with you, that you can't pay in cash?
