Dot Counting Home Sellout for Boxing Day vs Cambridge

Attendance tracking
Even Father Christmas gets Boxing Day off so I do agree, everyone should be getting the tickets in early so they can put there feet up with a mince pie and some sherry.
I don't like sherry and I don't particularly like mince pies either.

If we've sold out Cambridge by Christmas Day, then I'll spend the day counting the dots for Derby on the 29th. Bah humbug!!!

Sunday evening (10th) update at 7.30pm and there are now just 1,986 home seats left.

North Stand sales are very string and only 360 left in that stand (184 of them in the end family block).

South Stand Upper also selling well and only really has seats together tin the two end blocks- 370 left there in total.

486 left in the East Stand and 770 in South Stand Lower.

Monday night (11th) update at 10.30pm and another 92 sales today, the majority of them (60) in the North Stand which continues to sell fast across all 4 blocks.

That leaves 1,894 available seats.

Remaining seats are:

North Stand - 300
South Stand Upper - 354
East Stand - 476
South Stand Lower - 764

How are we doing Curragh?
It looks like the North Stand is close to being sold out

I've also been keeping an eye on it, but won't do a full report until after the weekend. Sales are good though, and currently at about 8,000 home sales, meaning only 1,600 or so left. 15 of the 25 blocks are currently over 90% sold. It's selling at a rate of about 100 per day and will ramp up next week.

Will either sell out, or be very very close.

Midnight update on Friday 15th and there are now only 1,522 seats available (meaning 8,032 seats sold and not including boxes so far).

These are split

North Stand - 174
East Stand - 388
South Stand Upper - 288
South Stand Lower - 672

A win tomorrow and with some active promotion by the club next week and I think we will sell out.

It is worth noting that based on previous large crowds there is the possibility for the club to make another 190 seats available in the front row of various blocks which would bring home seat capacity from 9,554 to 9,744. (Figures above are based on 9,554).

Midnight update on Sunday 17th and there are now 1,313 seats remaining (meaning home seats sales excluding boxes of 8,241).

These are split:

North Stand 125
East Stand 334
South Stand Upper 245
South Stand Lower 609

Quite possible that it will sell out before the day.
I wonder if the club will open up more of the North Stand for home supporters?

3.30pm update on Monday 18th and there have been strong sales already today - there are now just 1,189 home seats remaining (taking home seat sales to 8,365).

These are split

North Stand 113
East Stand 295
South Stand Upper 212
South Stand Lower 569

Sales picking up noticeably today in the East Stand and South Stand Lower as only single seats (or groups in the end blocks) now left in the North Stand and South Stand Upper.

South Stand Upper - 193

I'm coming to this a day earlier than usual, as I normally start my analysis on midnight Sunday, before a Saturday game, but as it's selling so well I thought I'd do a report now, as there's a fair bit to unpick. I've been doing a count for about ten days now, but thanks to @Thecurraghofkildare for doing a daily count and reporting on here.

So, my figures agree with The Curragh's and I have us at 8,477 home sales (excluding boxes) first thing this morning. To give some context that is 1,700 higher than any game, at this stage, this season. North Stand at 96% sold, East Stand at 91% sold and SSU at 91% sold are all higher than any game this season the day before match day. Of the 25 individual seating blocks 19 of them are currently 90%+ sold, with only the wings of SSL, wings of East Stand, and the fence end block of SSU below 90% sold.

What does this all mean? To state the obvious, it will sell out, it's just a matter of when. If the club don't make any more seats available, then we have 9,554 available. From this point on the LEAST that we have sold this season is 1,300 and the most is over 2,000. So a worst case scenario is that we need an extra 200/250 seats. But I suspect we'll need more. The club can, as The Curragh stated a week or so ago, make 190 extra front row seats available, and I expect they will do this. They can also make available about 300/350 extra seats in the North Stand, by moving the segregation and opening up half of Block 26, next to the away fans. This would be subject to TVP/H&S approval, but I'd be surprised if the club haven't already considered this, as they have the same ability to analyse the sales that I do. It begs the question why haven't they already announced this, or have the authorities knocked it back? These are really good seats, so they should be on sale now, not left to those who turn up at the last minute, in my opinion.

Interesting few days ahead I think............

Apologies if this has been asked already, but do we know how many Cambridge have sold so far?

Had a quick look at there forum, they have nearly sold out for the away game against Stevenage on the Friday after boxing day but don't even have a thread for our match. think they average about 600 away so maybe so 7/800?

In the Accrington game, they opened up a further section in the North Stand when the rest of the ground was just about full from memory?
As you suggest it is looking likely that we will sell out even any more seats made available, so why not try and get the biggest possible crowd?
The Accrington game set a bit of a precedent. I am.not sure why TVP would have a problem with the same arrangement on Boxing Day?

It would be great if we could move the netting over and reduce their allocation if they can't sell it all
