Players misplace passes when they don't understand the system or the plan sometimes.DB may prove to be a significant issue, but the players must also take responsibility. DB isnโt instructing them to misplace simple passes or telling them that itโs important to his plan to be so physically weak in the challenge and to lose almost every second ball. I donโt think those things are due to the system (or lack of one).
Thought I was younger than I really am.

Was seeing a girl, (biological) so not to offend.
Eh, if anything we were better in the second half. Wycombe should have been out of sight at half time, so what are you on about.Exactly
Des it is your fault Goodram and Harris cannot trap a ball
Your fault RR is too slow.
However u need to take the blame when you changed it at half time and took our width away.
Is Short not experienced?Players misplace passes when they don't understand the system or the plan sometimes.
Of course not all of it is on Des, but much of it is. As another poster put it, he's learning on our time.
That was mostly abject today I'm afraid. Most of the people say 'good point' etc clearly not there today. A better manager gets so much more out of this side.
His lack of experience IS a problem and he needs an experienced assistant next to him if he's to stay next season.
No, JMc needed to come in to cover on the bench as McGuane was out.Strange selection to start with I felt. Knowing how Wycombe set up and play I personally would have gone with two at best from Murphy, Rodriguez, and Goodrham. Accept McGuaneโs injury didnโt help, but expecting a lot today from Brannigan and Matete. Was Burey injured?
What's to mention, the penalty decision or having a team play like strangers for 65 minutes?what's troubling is that there appear to be some Oxford United fans who don't want to mention this because it doesn't suit their agenda against the manager
That penalty decision, interesting that it wasn't replayed on the screen. What's to mention, the penalty decision or having a team play like strangers for 65 minutes?
Selection was spot onStrange selection to start with I felt. Knowing how Wycombe set up and play I personally would have gone with two at best from Murphy, Rodriguez, and Goodrham. Accept McGuaneโs injury didnโt help, but expecting a lot today from Brannigan and Matete. Was Burey injured?
It's the agenda thing I take issue with, I really want him to succeed, but I dont see anything from his team that fills me with any confidence that he has a clue what he is doing, lucky we have some decent individuals playing individualy to try and find a way. No agenda though. If we got the penalty and scored it, we could be saying things like โ playing badly and still getting three points is the sign of a team thatโs going to be getting promoted โ
We rode our luck first half. We were robbed in the second
50+ for me40 years ago I used to pop up there
Wouldnโt risk it today
Must have been watching a different game. Because, if that was โspot onโ, itโs going to be a long and disappointing three and a half months to come (two poor mid table sides on that showing)! Yes Negru and Brown played well, but Iโm glad WW are great at creating chances, but P**s poor at finishing them (aka Bolton all over again for them)!! Totally overran us in the first half.Selection was spot on
Cumming Negru and Brown dealt with everything.
They were worried about Murphy and doubled up on him, a point gained and the platform to build on.
As this thread is about todays game, Iโm going to ignore this.Yes and it was different times with the.crowd almost completely male. and no woke cancel police.
I only remember the chant from the time when the ladyโs male colleague very deliberately winked at The London Road and to immense retrospective shame many fans roared their appreciation.
A balanced view? You wonโt get far here with thatโฆTheir pitch is tight and they are a physical team. Fair play to them, a well organised team. Their pre and post match music, on the whole is a lot better than ours.
Positives
-5 unbeaten
-clean sheet
-3 points clear in playoffs
-Rusty players getting more game time
-Cummings looking good
-last 30 we picked up
-Despite his rustiness in terms of touch, Goodwin caused issues for their defence just by being able to challenge in the air, creating space for others
Negatives
- not controlling the midfield
- seems like we have an inability to win second balls consistently
-lots of bad touches and poor control (even from players who are not rusty)
-Our right side defensively
- lack of creativity
The only difference is long stepped in and left the width to Mills. Under Manning. It's the agenda thing I take issue with, I really want him to succeed, but I dont see anything from his team that fills me with any confidence that he has a clue what he is doing, lucky we have some decent individuals playing individualy to try and find a way. Iโve mentioned the Bristol city gameMust have been watching a different game. I thought that we were far better organised in facing the Wycombe barrage from corners and free kicks.(With the disclaimer that I was only listening) - I can't help thinking that nothing much is improving except that the availability of more players gives us some extra energy (if not always quality) off the bench. We don't really seem to be getting better organised, be putting together more effective attacks, dominating the midfield more or simply be able to impress for more than a minority of a game. I hope for better on Tuesday.
I hope so, the Northampton game is massive, not just result wise but performance wise, this will show us if we are truly capable of staying in top 6.The only difference is long stepped in and left the width to Mills. Under Manning.
We broke with confidence and pace, like Tuesday got the results with some fortune with strikes at goal.
We were pretty decent at Bristol City but people on here criticised that game, but it laid the foundation for Manning and the team to build on.
today is the day that the team and Des to push on again.
