Firstly I'd like to thank the idiots who decided to chuck a smoke canister behind the seats where my kids were sat I'm sure my two boys really appreciated that

Secondly our performance today wasn't great at times seem devoid of ideas the annoying thing is if we get it down use our wingers and attack we look so dangerous BUT that's rare

Cummings doesn't fill me with encouragement he has a mistake in him every game it seems

Wow. Now thereโ€™s a porky if Iโ€™ve ever seen it. I think everybody came away from Portsmouth full of positives about how weโ€™d played. Even the most cynical were only disappointed to see us lose having played so well. Today I expect everybody to be delighted with the result but we played shite bar a couple of short spells which is massively disappointing after supposedly turning a corner last week. Itโ€™s ok to discuss both.

Results always matter most, especially when you pick up one point in 2 very winnable home games. That was all that made the Pompey result more important.

So the focus was on both today after another loss. Could we play well twice in a row and win a game that we really ought to win? The answer was very nearly no to both of those.

Of course weโ€™ll take it. But a lot of the big concerns reared themselves again today and Iโ€™m again unconvinced that Des is taking this team anywhere fast. Apart from anything else it was dreadful entertainment. And after Portsmouth you told me that weโ€™d been crap up until that game because Des had the handbrake on and had finally taken it off. So wtf was that performance today???
It wasnโ€™t dreadful entertainment in the last 10 minutes of each half though, was it?

The P W D L F A Pts stats don't
But the match day stats mean fcuk all canโ€™t remember the game we had 68% possession and we still lost.
Recently we had 17 shots 3 on target the opposition had 4 shots and 1 on target guess what? We lost 1 - 0 so no stats donโ€™t mean a thing.

Tbf that was cracking save from the robins keeper

It was but Gregly really shouldn't have given him the chance. Happily he made up for his mistake the 2nd time. Also, hopefully that gives him some confidence to kick on and regain the form he had before injury.

It wasnโ€™t but we need to do more than 10 mins and there wasnโ€™t much at the end of the first half 5 mins at the most but ffs 15 mins of whole game is all the entertainment weโ€™re going to see is poor

Trying to concentrate on positives:

Dale and Brannagan were brilliant. Wish more of our squad had their attitude.

The winner was one of our classiest pieces of play all season.

Crowd up for it in last 15 minutes. Really helped the team Iโ€™d say.

Centre backs assured , apart from that horrendous equaliser.

Murphy, (when he gets in the game., quite a rare occurrence), is dynamite.

Just about deserved the win against, letโ€™s face it, relegation fodder.

Plenty to moan about as well. but Iโ€™ll leave that to the negativity experts..

We were both shocking and were going to play a lot better teams in the remaining fixtures, but if we play like we did in the last 10 minutes then we could but the nouns small possibility we could reach the play offs and be in the lottery at the end of the season.
Oh just to let you know Stats mean fcuk all
Let me take a wild guess: you werenโ€™t actually shocked

Yeah,I was impressed too, kept Cheltenham in the game. Wonder if he is available in the summer.

If Cheltenham go down he will probably want to stay at league one level.

Poor today but we'll take the 3 points. Points are important but you also need to look at how you get there. We wer excellent against Pompey but poor today bar a couple of spells, all well and good when you're playing Cheltenham but against the better teams it won't fly. Purkiss made the point on The Dub that the best teams set the tempo regardless of the opposition, we raised it against Portsmouth but against some incredibly limited cloggers we dropped right off again.

Dale clearly man of the match and I wish a few more had his attitude. Watch him before the game geeing his team mates up and he also plays to the crowd a bit, it's such an easy win but not many do it. Brannagan did well and Rodrigues was involved in the spells when we played some good stuff at the end of the first half but overall not involved enough. Moore was also good as usual and you can see the extra composure and quality on the ball he has above all our other centre backs.

McGuane miles off it, Stevens was really poor too. Cummings is a concern, if that were Eastwood who conceded that goal then he'd have got pelters and it's far from the first time he's cost us. Southwold looked alright, anyone know if he's local?
