I like those first 6 fixtures, as it will get us playing at a high level straight away, and if we can get the nuts and bolts of our squad in place early, and with more intelligent people planning our preseason, we should be in good knick going into those games.
If we can hit the ground running, get some good results in those first 6 games, then it will set us up nicely moving forwards into the next 6 fixtures, which on paper should be a lot easier, so as long as we start well, pick up plenty of points in the first 6, then storm the 2nd 6, we could be in a very strong position and in full flow, going into what looks like a very tough October/November period.
Dec/Jan looks a bit of a mixed bag, with some tough fixtures, but with lost's of points up for grabs as well, in some easier looking games, so hopefully we can get to the end of Jan still in a strong position, having strengthened again in the January window, ready for the 2nd half of the season.
Feb/Mar looks like we'll have some consistently tough fixtures, but hopefully with reinforcements brought in in January, we'll be able to keep getting good results, and picking up plenty of points, ready for the April run in, which (except Peterborough) looks pretty straight forward.
When you look at the teams in league one this season, and considering Wigan are a mess and will be losing key players, and will have a big points deduction, and Reading are also a mess, if we can bring the right players in this summer, there's every reason to be very optimistic about our chances this season.
Getting excited now!
COME ON YOU YELLOWS!!!
