Might have been worth giving him a rubbish offer to ensure compensation - not sure how much we'd be entitled to

I believe that any contract offer that would result in compensation has to be equal to or better than his previous contract, to stop any shenanigans

We were more than happy for Nico Jones to move on.

Brentford makes sense for him. Lives near there. Will be interesting to see what level he ends up at.

In Jason Burt's EPL preview for The Telegraph (not sure if he might have an extra interest in Oxford, think he scooped one of the stories about the Indonesian takeover?)
Breakthrough star...
If he stays fit – and that is a huge if given his frustrating injury record – it could be Brentford’s Shandon Baptiste. The 23-year-old. Grenadian international is a product of the Oxford United academy before joining Brentford and has only managed to give glimpses so far of what he is capable of. A superbly gifted midfielder, who can run with the ball, Baptiste may actually be more suited to the Premier League. If he gets his chance and if he remains fit and if Brentford are competitive then there could soon be a lot of talk about him.

Jason Burt lives in Oxford/Oxfordshire

No Baptiste or Fosu in Brentford's squad - shame about SB in particular, sounded like he had a good preseason, seen a few Brentford fans disappointed too.

Well if Ben white was worth £50million I dread to think how much dickie or Atkinson would go for

Not a player but Shaun Derry has moved up to the first team coaching staff at Crystal Palace.

Rob Quinn also at Palace as U18s manager
