Can't necessarily see this being the deal Des has been talking about because if we had done all we could then surely a bid would have gone in? Nothing reported but I guess that was the same for Burey, a bid could be in already and we may not know until he is either confirmed for us, Charlton or for Cheltenham until at least the summer.

Charlton are a bigger club than us but we have more stability and hopefully that would be a pull for new signings. Appleton was on the brink a few weeks ago and any manager there is only ever two or three defeats from calls for his head. There's a better long term strategy here you'd think and any permanent signings we make now stand a realistic chance of championship football and of being part of the squad going into the new stadium - hopefully !

What happened with the rumours about Godden signing from Coventry? Has that got any legs or was it just that he didn’t celebrate scoring and we have read too much in to it?

And Ed Waldron was involved in us getting Ruben in over bigger clubs.

Sigh, this is all a bit boring. So, credit to the club for keeping the lid on rumours and ITKs, I guess. Presumably they *are* actually working to get us a striker.

Latest Dub, featuring our Des, has just dropped. Teased as having some transfer updates as well as further info on the coaching staff. Just started listening...

Wants more options in our front line - “a couple more”. Undecided if they will be loans or permanent.

Some players likely to go out on loan, assuming we get players in.

Stewart - just “checking in” rather than looking to sign specifically.

Hackett in first team coaching staff for rest of the season. Doesn’t put numbers on importance of coaching staff so won’t have a specific Assistant. Happy with the current structure.

Joe Moore is the analyst - worked in NZ and Fulham and serving notice at Arsenal. Working remotely.

Open to Edwards staying but we’ll see where we are at the end of the season. But we’re in the driving seat for him and other loans potentially.

Favourite players to watch: Matt Elliot Joey Beauchamp and Paul Moody. If he could sign any past player: Jamie Brooks in his prime.

What a thoughtful and knowledgeable manager we are lucky to have.

Yeah, I feel if he takes the gatlin "last fifteen minutes against tiring legs" role allowing gatlin to get the regular football he will thrive under then it isn't a bad shout. But hope we are also looking at someone younger
He’s 5ft 10.

Not sure the Jordi Cruyff comparison works - not sure Savage "name" is much of a help. He is a full international at 20, received a lot of praise at FGR on loan for his ability and incredible engine/work ethic. He also had some first team action at Man Utd as a young player which at least means he was in the top talents in the academy.

Not saying he is perfect or more important than a striker signing but - would add needed depth and legs in the midfield, and potentially has significant resale value in 2-3 years. At the right price just feels a low risk high potential signing
Both times he’s played against us this year he’s been very ordinary. Avoid.
