General Players out on loan

Lofthouse was a prolific goalscorer for the U18s ... usually on the right side of the attack.....his flexibility will hopefully see him make a few appearances in the first team squad next season.....looked a really exciting prospect playing for U18s....seems hes developing well out on loan
He is definitely the one this season who appears to have most benefitted from a loan.
Woking have had a decent season in the NL.
Lofthouse has been a regular and seems to have played in a number of positions which is good for his development I assume.
Hopefully he will be one who is seen as good enough to be good enough in the first team squad next season
Does anybody know how long his contract is for?

From memory he signed a 1 year extension last year, so I think it runs out at the end of this season.

Just to update according to this on the OWS he signed a 1 year contract May 2020 https://www.oufc.co.uk/news/2020/may/youngsters-update/

It's a really good sign that Lofthouse has been a regular in a mid-table Conference side. Makes you think that he could potentially contribute to the first team next season.....

.....the only slight worry is that whilst not old (he's 20), he is a little older than most in our U21s. By that age, Shandon (for example) had already broken into our first team. Sam Long had his first serious spell in the first team at that age as well (although of course he wasn't a regular until much later). Josh played 35 games for the first team in his age 20 season (albeit in League Two).

That may go against him, and you have to think that if he does get another OUFC contract, it'll be no more than a year and a last chance to break through.

1945hrs on BBC 2 Northern Ireland is Crusaders Vs Linfield if anyone else is interested seeing how Joel Cooper is getting on or spotting our next punt in the transfer market!

Making Ifollow look awesome :D

I watched a few minutes and it wasn't good.

Edit: Just looked in again to see Joel Cooper score a good goal for the equaliser. Hopefully the family issues get sorted and he gets a chance back with us.

The commentators are purring about Cooper and then he scores. 1-1

Man of the match.

Last minute of the game losing team threw the ball straight into the strikers nose from a yard out as he was slow retreating... Understandable mellay ensued with hands on faces, shirts grabbed, heads on noses.... ref paused for thought then let play resume :D

Osei Yaw doesn't appear to be having much success at Walsall. Albeit the team's form isn't great either.
Booted the manager just after Derick arrived and problems on and off the pitch. If it wasn't a senior loan he would have been back here sharpish. Shame really as he might have been a real alternative with Barker putting the balls in.
Probably 50:50 released or kept for next season?

Really feel for this guy, deprived of work for four months by stupid league rules, then loaned out to get games only to turn up at a club in crisis...

Woking have signed another forward on loan and Spasov is now greyed out on their squad stats list which suggest his loan has ended. Other greyed out players have returned from loan spells.

Perhaps we have called him back to add him into the first team group for the rest of the season and make a decision for next season?

Slavi was one who was really highly thought of a few years ago, along with Fabio Lopes and Nico Jones, but none of them have seemed to be able to make a serious impact at all so far. Hopefully it's a case of them being slightly later bloomers like Matty and Stevens were rather than them not being good enough. Not everyone will be bossing the midfield against prem teams whilst also having legs made of thin glass as a teen like Shandon did! LCP and Lofthouse on the other hand have both been looking good recently. Wouldn't be surprised to seem them flirting with the first team or out on loan in a mid-top table league 2 side next season.

More likely out on loan as our manager doesn't seem to like promoting youngsters from the youth squad.

I’d have SS, Nico and Lopes on the bench. Likewise, LCP and Lofthouse over the likes of Hall ( got taken off injured today ) and Grayson and at a push, Kelly.

I’d also like to see Goodrham and Elechi given a chance before they disappear of the radar.

Would be nice for the club to communicate what’s going on with Slavi and Lopes as nether appeared for the u21’s today

KR likes to take the plaudits for promoting youth but we haven’t really seen it when it comes to league games. The exception obviously is Stevens and let’s face it, he didn’t really have a choice given the form of Eastwood.
