National News Who next

Whatever the party, I am not sure that having televised debates where the candidates are trying to simultaneously knock lumps out of each other, while also manoeuvring for a place in the cabinet if they don't win and trying to appear statesman-like has been a particularly edifying display for us gawpers or very constructive for the Conservatives. Especially since the vast majority are watching a process in which we have no part.
I dunno, I’ve quite enjoyed watching the horror and stark realisation sweeping across the nation’s collective face that the emperor is, as has been the case for a good several years at this point, completely Billy Boll**ks.

All very boring, all very predictable

Just watch Liz Truss lower her voice by an octave in an effort to sound, as well as look like Thatcher. It will give several Tory MP's, not to mention grassroots "diehards", a lazy lob on and she'll storm into second place ahead or Mordaunt.

Then over to the grassroots.....and who knows what the diverse melting pot of intellect, culture and life experience will do

Still....fun watching them rip chunks out of each other and pretend they were never in support of their opponents policies ....... whilst we all know they were thumping the cabinet table or shouting loudly i parliament a few days ago. Duplicitous shits, the lot of them. But they rely on you being stupid and forgetful to get by and get ahead....

Bad Enoch was expected to do better.
Liz Truss looks likely to pick up a fair view votes. It seems like the Conservative members like Mordaunt. Certainly a three horse race. No real surprise it’s those three left in the race

Truss is simply dreadful - of these three Mordaunt is the best of a very poor bunch - Tories continuing to run like Lemmings down the slippery slope (or cliff) to election defeat

Do you never step back and feel any embarrassment or awkwardness about how persistently aggressive you are? After a few years, the excitement of furiously abusing an imagined enemy must get dull? No?

Your blood pressure must be so high mate, just chill out.

So the political party that had been lecturing the country that it must become more efficient/productive has just taken one week and three elections to eliminate the candidates that finished 4th, 5th and 6th a week ago.

You really could not make it up.

Come on....you should know better than that!

Tories don't actually DO production, they just get the little people to do it for them to create their wealth ;)

Can someone actually explain to me what 'anti-woke' is (sensibly) please?

Kemi Badenoch is described (and seems to describe herself) as 'anti-woke'. Having just looked it up, 'woke' is defined as 'aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)'. I really cannot see how anyone can actually be 'anti' that?

Is 'woke' just the new 'political correctness' or even 'bloody Health and Safety' that people spout because they don't like societal change and would rather their cosy assumptions and prejudices aren't challenged?

Sources: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/woke, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woke
A black woman whose gimmick is being ‘anti-woke’, despite the fact she’s only been able to attain her position because society has become more ‘woke’ than a generation ago, and who wants to delay net zero on the hottest day in history? The Tories must think we’re children: to us they are the little people, to be fooled and fed rubbish.

It was always going to be these three remaining, but Kemi Badinoch did well, and has a bright future in politics. I think it would of come down to experience as to why Tory mp’s didn’t go for her. It will be interesting to see where her 59 backers go now. Hopefully to Penny Mordaunt.

If it’s Sunak in the last two, then whichever woman is up against him they will become PM.

Oh and @Essexyellows will follow her to the graveyard….

Bottom of my list thanks - if it's Truss & Sunak I`m putting it to a poll on here because I wouldn`t wish to vote for either of them.

Massive opportunity to "rock the political boat" by supporting Kemi but there we go, hope she gets a decent cabinet position ready to knife the next one. :ROFLMAO:
