Depends now. Maybe some of the Sunak camp will lend votes to a certain individual to extinguish another.

Id like to see Penny Mordaunt to come out on top. I think the Labour Party fear her more than Sunak and Truss. We will see tomorrow…

Don't the Conservative members' polls suggest both women beat Sunak?

Both YouGov polls shows Sunak loses to either Truss or Mordaunt. Correct.

I said as soon as Boris announced he’d resign, that I wanted Redwood or Truss. But as it’s gone on I’m leaning towards Mordaunt. I also think she would crush Starmer in a General Election. Just something about her, that has a bit of Margret Thatcher in her. That is a good thing for this country.

It will be Truss then, she picks up most of Badenoch votes, so unless there has been tactical voting up until now it's Sunak v Truss.

Yeah Badenoch and Mordaunt don’t quite agree on the trans gender thing, so maybe some of Kemi’s voters will go to truss, but Sunak might well try and flush Truss out by lending votes to Mordaunt. Intriguing day tomorrow.

No Essex has been clever backing, the early exit candidates so that when it all goes tits up he can say not my choice.

Except they didn`t exit as early as others. 🤷‍♀️

My personal preference list now reads:
1. Penny.
2. Rishi.
3. Liz.

So long as we don’t get Sunak. He always throws money at problems.
And now he is saying he is the responsible one who doesn’t want to reduce taxes yet…from a billionaire who helped bring down Boris.
He certainly has an agenda

If Truss ends up PM, this country is in for a dark and dangerous two years! It will be a disaster.
I know Boris also showed a complete lack of ability and competence. But at least his laziness prevented most of his influence being acted upon!

So you are saying an inactive fool is better than an active one. That is where this country is at. 😕

Yes sadly I am. Somehow that’s now the depth we have reached in public life. Another Boris legacy

Dark and dangerous place. That sounds like a gloomy prediction.
I am not so sure anyone can dig us out of the hole we find ourselves in just now.
It is not just the U.K. that finds itself in the mire.
The question is whether the worst is over. We have a mountain of debt to clear and covid is still with us.We are surely in a better place than we were two years ago.
We desperately need stability and hopefully all these promises of industrial action over the next six months will not come to as much as the press would have us believe

I'm not sure if that reference to dark and dangerous was anything actually to do with where we find ourselves in the teeth of a global cost of living crisis with all the debt and inflationary pressures that go with it.

It is more to do with the approach to foreign policy, trade and important things like NIP and the Brexit deal we seem willing to rip up and/or put at risk. Anything that lurches us towards failure of the GFA or more direct sabre rattling with Russia and China (something Cheezy Truss seems to be "talking tough" on) is arguably taking us to a dark and dangerous place....never mind all the other woes that us and just about every country around the world are currently facing!

Makes you wonder why he carries on supporting them, seeing as he is so obviously out of kilter with their views 🤷‍♂️ :ROFLMAO:

My views are reasonably aligned with the conservative (small c) policies.
If you take the personality "issues" out of it, most of us are "middle-ground conservative/Blairite/centrist" types of folk.
That is why the party that grabs and holds the middle ground wins, aided and abetted by FPTP.
The problem the Conservative party has now is holding what they gained.
Most people understand the impact of global issues, but they get very jittery when they can`t, or struggle to, pay the bills.
On the plus side the filter through of Government assistance will happen, some will put food on the table and others will piddle it up the wall.
Us folk in the middle will be a little bit worse off but, in the grander scheme of things, living a pleasant enough life.

The next 2 years will be "interesting" but not quite the gloom and disaster others predict. 🤷‍♀️

What is it about your views that makes you think they are "centrist"?

And by corollary, did you vote for Blair in '97?

And finally, is your prediction of "interesting" times ahead based on your own personal experience/position/expectation, or are you speaking generally on behalf of everyone?

Oops, Penny Mordaunt has had to delete a tweet after it said Tory MPs and Party members will be murdering the Tory Party if they select Sunak or Truss over her.
