Please don’t have a go at me for suggesting the following.

Do you think it would be a good idea to cut off the oxygen to those NIMBYs on Nextdoor by not engaging in conversation about the Triangle. In addition we know that a handful of FofSB regularly read this forum and twist what is written on here to their advantage.

The suggestion is to refrain from posting any more on both Nextdoor or on here regarding the Triangle, until the official consultation period is over. The more we post, the more they twist the truth.

Don’t give them the oxygen to feed their lies.

I’ve thought this for sometime now and wholeheartedly agree.
Any comments prior to further information being released, is a complete waste of time and potentially damaging .

I agree, we are just feeding the wolf, let's restrain ourselves and get stuck encouraging everyone to engage with consultations and presentations when they start.

I'd hope that no-one would have a go at you for the suggestion.

Personally I agree, which is why I have chosen not to engage.

I do fully respect the right of those who do choose to engage, and I'm grateful that some choose to do this. The way that some of our supporters have conducted themselves on that forum is exemplary - travelling the line between forthrightness and restraint admirably.

I do wonder however whether we're collectively spending too much energy on a frankly unimportant group of people.

M. It’s not about our supporters, it’s a solution to stop the twisting of genuine views of pro stadium posts by FofSB. It would only be from now until July 23rd. If not on here, stop posting on Nextdoor, cut off the oxygen leads to stifling the fire. Those on Nextdoor will never change their minds and therefore it might be better to let the Club and the OCC carry out their process.

Well I was going to pass on some red-hot information I have been given by an insider at the council that not only are OCC going to gift the land to the club, they also intend to subsidise the building costs to the tune of £5m and will be underwriting any losses on the stadium complex for the next 25 years.

Heaven knows what FoSB would have been able to do with such sensitive information....

I told you that in confidence. Thank goodness you kept the fact that the new stadium will be called “The Liz Leffman” bowl. 😂

Well it's at least partly about our supporters if you're asking them not to post!

But yes, I'm in general agreement.

Or maybe we do what Colleen Rooney did to flush out the 🐀 🤣

Already said as such on the main thread, I know it's tempting, but these people don't care about what we have to say, they only become more determined and in the meantime, their ridiculous arguments get a larger audience.

The people on NextDoor aren't the ones that need convincing.

Agree, let's just sit back, wait for the plans and let the club and the council do their thing to get this over the line. Keep the faith yellows.

Not sure myself..

It’s true that some on there will not change their view or enter a reasoned debate but there may be others reading the forum who will take into account a reasoned response from our side.

I don’t think we can let complete lies be unchallenged on there, they need calling out otherwise there is more of a danger those lies stick.

Difficult I know but I think we should stick to playing the issues not the poster.

I agree, I don't venture onto Next door or Facebook, but I commend those that do go on there and conduct themselves brilliantly.

FoSB were on twitter relentlessly for a good year before people started actually calling out their bullshit, the account is now dead, so well done on that front.

I dont think letting them have free reign over any platform is a good idea.

Oh oh, but I had heard they have agreed to demolish the largest four bed detached houses in the village to build the stadium in the centre. Residents will be re-located in Cowley.

I thought you said it was going to be called the Middleton Neutral complex?
Now wouldn’t that be ironic.
A bit like Wetherspoons being named after a teacher who told Tim Martin he would do nothing with his life.

Just think every time he drives past to council meetings he would see a wonderful stadium with his name on it.

If of course he still is a councillor by then, or perhaps he will disappear to the Orkney Islands, sorry I forgot we have fans everywhere
