Ex Player Stanley Mills

Not sure this is warranted, stating an opinion that I should think some (including myself) agree with, he was bang average but the goal was superb, I want to see him being that direct more often, plenty of defenders at this level won't be able to deal with that sort of pace.
The expectation that I shouldn't be anything but chipper after a 3-1 away win at Barnsley is just another example of the kind of toxic positivity that's made me scared to give dogs abuse at football games these days and has resulted in me requesting the club to move my season ticket from the SSU to the away corner.

While I'm here, Longy was crap, and I hope we've been able to locate Billy Bodin in time for me to let him know how slow he is on Saturday.

I don't think anyone was crap, Long gave the ball away a few times but I think he did okay, I also have no issues with what I saw from Bodin, not all our players can be rapid.

But, I agree with the rest of your post, you are entiltled to your opinion, and folks are entitled to challenge it

My tongue was in my cheek. I was delighted with the performance; I only had a contention with the remark that Mills was tremendous, but perhaps expressed it too bluntly.

Long cleared off the line to keep us ahead yesterday and Tuesday, he wasn't great but not crap. Going forward yes he ain't great but he is there primarily to defend.
If Bodin had pace he would not be playing League 1, his ability to find space and link up play is important to the way we play.
If a player had Mills pace and Bodin's awareness he would play in the Premiership. If a player had Longs passing ability and Bodin's pace you could fairly call that player crap.
If Longy and Bodin are crap where to you rank Diaz, Tendialli et al.

Bloody hell, last time I attempt humour. I've a newfound sympathy for @greatunclekip all of a sudden.

I'm a fan of both Longy and Bodes, for the record.

Try doing stand up, the audience will be a lot more reasonable!! Humour does not appear to work too well in this forum.
You posted your attempted humour comment mid post my rant.
For the record I am usually very critical of Longy and some days I wonder how he ever made it as a professional footballer but that's another story.

Tbf I thought Long hadn’t improved on last season but after the 2nd half against Carlisle and including the last two games he’s been bloody good and while he keeps playing like that I am more than happy.

Danny Mills on talkSPORT talking about Stanley at us on loan, said how great the club have been and how great Liam Manning is with all the players, especially with communicating with people. He also praised us as fans.
Yes was listening too though he had Barnsley equalising as-a slip of the footy memory but nice to hear that he'll be watching every game.

Fantastic player, just glides past opponents. Hope we see more than just cameos from him.

I agree he gets the ball and just wants to make things happen my only question would be is he as affective against fresh defenders or tiring defenders I mean if he started the game would be run out of steam where as when he comes on in the second half the defence is tiring and he can run .
I do like him tho I would love him on the right Tyler on the left just running at the defence

I guess we could sub him if he got tired ?

behind a paywall if anyone knows how to get round it.
Interview with Danny Mills and his son, middle distance runner George. George is the third fastest British miler in history behind Steve Cram and Seb Coe. Stanley gets a few mention.

“It’s easier for me to compare football to athletics because I’ve now got a lad playing in League One,” Danny says. “Granted, he’s also attached to a Premier League club. But in League One they get really well looked after. Oxford’s a good club. They make sure their players can perform to their best.
