Ex-Staff Liam Manning

twitchy here too, surely if it was advanced as the city fans are saying on their forum we’d have had a leak this end?

I couldn't agree more, @Yellowarmy. The whole discussion over the past 72 hours - including by RadOx post match yesterday - is over reaction to a one paragraph newspaper article.
To be fair a couple of in the know posters on here have heavily hinted that there's interest from Bristol City, it's not just from one article. Not to say he's going to go but I do think there's probably more in it than you suggest.

I’m certainly worried given all the chat suggesting that he’s the second favourite. Lampard won’t go to Bristol City. I’m not convinced it will be a good move for Manning as he needs something on his CV. We definitely need to offer an extension to his contract and am increase in salary to reflect his great work.
it would be very concerning if he took all the coaching staff with him too

Don't know if there is real interest or not, but I do know that you can take nothing from betting markets. It would take only half a dozen bets of a tenner or so to change the odds.

Who are the ITK posters you refer to?

I don’t believe there any true real ITK posters since the changes in manager and other back room staff. The club is run much more professionally now at many levels throughout the club.

From what I've read from Bristol city fans on social media about the possibility of Manning taking over is they will be very underwhelmed and I can't say I blame them.

No experience in the championship and hasn't achieved promotion from league one (yet).

Still if he goes he goes, good luck to him and remember he is not irreplaceable.

I believe Tatabanya (called Rodrigues transfer early on) and EC Yellows have both hinted there's at least some interest.

Definitely run more professionally but there are still plenty of people at the club who have been there for years and will know things. Like I say, doesn't mean he's going but I do suspect there's at least interest on Bristol City's side of it.

They are guessing from other posts and general social media leaks, the same as anyone could do.

EC Yellow used to be a prime source of info on transfers in particular, but since certain personnel left that hasn‘t been the case. The other day EC said anything on the subject was just their own view with no evidence to back it up.

Tatabanya had one piece of info re Rodrigues which may or may not have been genuine inside info but nothing else credible on any other transfer. If they genuinely know something then they should elaborate and not give the odd 😮 or similar reply to make out they know something. We could all do that and pretend to be ITK. Your bound to be right on occasions, based on the law of averages.

Current Skybet odds have LM as 2nd favourite, most of that is from reading Forum threads as was the Ox Mail’s article the other day. It’s not to say LM may not go to BC, he could well be in the frame, but if it was absolutely certain right now then no odds would be offered on him by any bookmaker.

I hope any rumours are wrong as he’s doing a great job here, but realistically any club at a higher level would be taking a real punt on someone with one good season at MK and about a dozen really decent performances from Oxford in about 30 games here.

I hope he stays with us for a long time as those decent performances are becoming more consistent, and he is building a great team here on and off the pitch, and longer term we could actually be a better proposition than BC in a few years time if the backing of our club from the owners remains in place and continues to increase.

Everyone has bought into Liam Manning and the way he works. If he leaves it will be a huge blow.

Same as Appleton was. And the same sad faces will be slagging Manning off for chasing the money, like they did Appleton.

And if he goes they might be right. And the manager who leaves still will be right. Life only lasts so long.

And we don't have a director of football, and who knows if we have invested in succession planning?

It's on third place on the tee, fifth oh the fairway and third on the green.

From Manning confirming there's been nothing at Saturday 5pm to an announcement being ready for tomorrow? Either Manning was lying, it's been a very busy Sunday or this tweet just isn't true.
I believe that Manning would have been aware of the rumours when asked on Saturday at 5pm, but I also don’t believe that he’d spoken to Bristol City at the time or even if Oxford had agreed/finalised that Manning was actually free to speak to Bristol City about the vacant position. Having said that, there could have been discussions today!!

I guess we should hear more in the coming days, but I get the feeling that Manning could seriously be considered for the vacant manager’s role by Bristol, so I guess it’s whether Manning will consider it or actually accept it. My gut feeling is the latter e.g. if Bristol City want him he’ll be gone.

And I've hear Portsmouth will sack Mousinho following today's defeat and he'll coming begging for a job. Bloody rumours.
Bloody rumours, indeed! They've wasted about forty pages of discussion on this Forum.

Bristol is quite a journey compared to the 20 minutes it takes LM to travel to the training ground from his new gaff on the Oxon/Bucks border.

Where has Manning moved to ? The right side of Oxford to Bristol is perfectly commutable but I’d suggest ploughing through Oxford from, say, Thame direction to get to Bristol is a bit of a nightmare. I live on A420 towards Faringdon and we will sometimes drive to Bristol for a show/restaurant, easily do-able.
