Ex-Staff Liam Manning

Bloke has made a mistake. The Bristol
City job is the poison chalice of football.

Talk about jumping early, he’s been here 5 minutes.

I should imagine the club management are heartily pissed off.

Good journalism by Jerome Sale incidentally.
What did Jerome say?
I agree that Bristol City are a bit of a poisoned chalice ( they also reduced their budget this year), but if he did lose his Bristol job, he should be able to get a decent L1 position and will be far better off financially.

No way Hogg is staying, he will be going with LM. I find the decision to leave already
very strange, which makes me think, he is not completely happy with something behind the scenes, which may of influenced his decision!!!!

Why?
What about the tripling of his salary and opportunity to work at a much higher level?

It's less than eight months since Manning was appointed. We've probably still got that shortlist. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
Would think the quality of applicants will be higher considering the relatively position of the team then versus now

Did they?, by appointing someone who fucked off at the first sniff of outside interest?
The better they do, the more likely it is that they will be poached. Unfortunately it is part of football, and if his salary is trebled, you can hardly blame him?

Well to be honest who can blame hI’m going?
I am disappointed that he’s gone after we gave him a route back with us. I’m also sure that even if we had doubled his salary he would’ve still gone as there is no doubting his ambition. It’s a bigger club so good luck to him. He’s bound to take Hogg with him.
My personal choice would be Rowatt. He would see our ambition to go up and get us there.
This might work out well for Oxford.

What disappoints me the most is that to a man all the players brought in by Manning have said that he painted a picture of a club going places.
They said Manning had a vision to get promotion to the Championship and things would be even better when we move to the new stadium.
What a hypocrite Manning is. I know he has ambition but he has nothing, not one promotion on his CV.
I really hope Bristol City do badly from here on in.
Karl Robinson was vilified on here but that was due to poor performances and an inability to do his job correctly.
Liam Manning is worse than Karl Robinson in my eyes.He must have been in talks prior to the weekend. You don’t suddenly get a phone call Sunday morning.say you want the job then get compensation sorted out in 24 hours.
No he has lied about this in his interview and some on here stated he sounded uneasy during that interview with Radox
We move on but I’m thinking the club will be very cautious when appointing next
If I were them I would appoint Chris Hogg as a manager here in his own right that would P**s Manning off

Well he kept us up, we should all be grateful for that. Had a real chance to cement himself in the club's folklore though, and has forgone that for a pretty average opportunity at a club with seemingly little prospect of progress—that's just about the toughest league in world football.

He's showing a lot of confidence in himself, so fair play, but even objectively, it's a bit baffling.

Good luck to him. I mean that, though at the same time there'll be little pity from me if he fails.

Just getting to grips with all this info- has it been pretty much confirmed Manning is leaving then? It all feels extremely sudden
