International News Russian War With Ukraine

And the reason it needs to be restricted is because Hamas

As with most conflicts, it's a vicious cycle. Israel want to control Gaza's borders through constant (and legitimate) fear of attacks from Hamas. Part of the reason Hamas attack Israel is due to the fact they control Gaza's borders. There is no solution to that that appeases both sides.

Israel have said they've found Hamas members in the hospitals, as well as weapons, equipment, intelligence, and tunnels running under them. I'm sure when the time comes proof of this will be presented in an official capacity to a court. Until that point, any suggestion the raids constitute as a war crime are nothing more than speculation.

Out of interest though, if it's concluded there were indeed Hamas militants in the hospital and it was being used to store weapons, equipment etc etc would you concede they were legitimately raided as a military target?

Also, there are thousands of people currently imprisoned in the UK without being found guilty of a crime, and as of 2022 314 people has been in prison for 3 years or more with no conviction.

This is a situation where Israel cannot win. Do nothing after October 7th, or not respond strongly enough and they look weak not just to Hamas but to their other enemies, as well as risking emboldening them. They also look weak to their citizens and seem as though they're failing to defend them. React strong and attempt to defeat Hamas through war and they're criticised for every civilian death.

It's Islamism 101 - attack, cause death and destruction, hide behind civilians so they suffer the consequences, cry about how evil the west is, use it to legitimise your terrorism.

How people are still falling for it I'll never know.

Have Israel said they found those things in the latest destroyed hospital that they were destroying over 2 weeks?

And Israel's playbook is to control Gaza as they have for decades and occupy the West Bank. Israel controls Gaza's borders after all.

How does Israel regularly stealing land from the West Bank, supporting others to do so through terror and intimidation, denying Palestinians' basic rights, imprisoning and torturing 000s of Palestinians without charge or convicting through a closed military court (again an impossible 99% conviction rate) where the accused have no rights fit into your Islamism 101?

You appear to fail to look at both sides and appear to be justifying anything Israel do including engineering a famine.

The real irony of all this is that if Germany had won the WW2 and had and still were occupying and ruling this country you would be out there doing whatever it took to get the country back and you would vow never to give up.

Go on, tell me you wouldn't.

If America and the UK said that they would stop providing military and political support to Israel until they committed to a temporary ceasefire in order to establish secure aid routes into Gaza, then this situation would be resolved over night and a million people would be saved.

It really is as simple as that.

Are you not forgetting Hamas need to agree to said temporary ceasefire as well?

Not as "simple as that" then is it?

Might be place for you protesting at the Elbit factory up here.

If we're talking about Al-Shifa hospital specifically, then yes: 'The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had killed 200 terrorists, detained over 500 more and found weapons and intelligence "throughout the hospital".' That was during the most recent raid, due to Hamas regrouping there. The previous one uncovered a Hamas tunnel network under the hospital.

They want to control it for the reasons we saw on October 7th. We've seen the amount of weaponry Hamas are able to smuggle into Gaza even with Israel's border control, imagine how much worse it would be without it?

It's quite remarkable that Israel are expected to fund and supply their enemy- an enemy which has vowed their destruction.

Except Israel weren't occupying or ruling Gaza, so it's a false equivalence.

Well there you go. Your problem in a nutshell. I was referring what happened in 1948. Go away and learn a bit of history. Then be brave enough to answer my question.

Edit: This should help. It's from 2008

Well the Biden administration isn't impressed:

Over to you Netanyahu. Are you willing to risk the possibility of losing US support?
It's very frustrating that in this day and age, it still takes days / weeks for the US to do anything about the genocidal actions of a racist state they are effectively arming.

Imagine Trump in this situation. This is one of those diplomacy situations where he would well and truly make a mess.

V true on both counts.

As an aside, have you visited Damascus recently?

I don't care what happened in 1948. If we really want to talk about history, Israel was created in the Iron Age. 'Historians and archaeologists agree that the Kingdom of Israel existed by ca. 900 BCE'. Israel pre-dates 'Palestine' by more than a millennium.

You're talking about something completely different. If Germany won the war it would've been through invasion and conquer. The modern state of Israel was founded through an international treaty agreed by the UN. Jewish leaders accepted the plan, while Arab leaders rejected it and attacked Jews, starting a war. They were comprehensively beaten, and ultimately Israel became much larger than was first proposed because of it.

None of that is relevant to the fact that in 2023 Israel were attacked by a foreign government and are retaliating in self defence, though.

So in 1948 when, backed by the British, the Israeli state forced Palestinians out of their homes and off their land your are saying the Palestinians should have said 'fair dos you were here in 900 BCE' and just moved on. Are you calling for all non native American to return to the lands of their forefathers? What a pathetic argument.

Now, answer my question.
