There are some very, very poor teams in L1. Burton surely the worst, we beat them 7-0 over the two games.

Carlisle are very poor, Fleetwood are very bad. Cheltenham Town are a nightmare to play at their place.

Port Vale were utterly woeful against us too - but theyโ€™ve since got 7 points out of 12 and may stay up!

We have been absolutely excellent under Des against the really terrible teams.

Now for the big tests - can we find a couple of performances against good sides in the next two weeks. If we can, weโ€™re playoff bound.

Shrewsbury were rubbish too, how did we only beat them once?

We have done what was expected, we should have won at Shrewsbury which would have put us in a great position. We now have 4 really tough games . I think 8 points will do it ,now we will see where we are .We have had a good season alot of ups and downs but is the icing about about to be applied ,only time will tell .

I've had my doubts about Des from the start but credit where its due maybe that's what we needed x2 easy games to get us in gear for the games ahead didn't go yesterday as was at work but what I saw on the highlights it looks good with this new formation and it looks different and difficult to play against just hope everyone is fit as boy are we going to need them beat Peterborough sat and we could be looking at top 4 finish that would be good as we won't have to face Bolton and either Barnsley and Peterborough are winnable games and those 2 are in free fall at the minute get to Wembley then who knows strange things happen. COYY

Carlisle are the worst since they've already been relegated.

Out for a Ruby in Leicester last night so didnโ€™t post after leaving the game.

We were outstanding, particularly in the second half. Murphy was so much better than everyone else on the pitch, but it would be negligent to only single him out. From back to front we were very good.

Iโ€™m really on board with the system. Having your full backs defend first and not be marauding up the wing is proving to be a good decision from Des. Leigh and Long both had good games and the goals against, albeit against some of the lesser sides in the division, are beginning to dry up. Great to see.

Brannaganโ€™s injury has to be a minor one. We canโ€™t do without him next week, especially if MM remains out of favour. It will be interesting to see how Des manages that situation now, should CB be unavailable. JMac had a good game and moved the ball nicely when he came on.

3 huge home games to go. Peterborough are by no means unbeatable (see their results recently!), Lincoln under the lights will be great and then Stevenage on the box. If you possibly can, get up the Kass and pack the place out. Yellow streamers, balloons, ultras??? Letโ€™s back the boys.

In Des we trust ๐Ÿ‘€

Well written @ECYellow.

Packing Grenoble road for the remaining home games, and bringing both the noise and the visuals, could make ALL the difference at this stage. Treat them like the many cup nights we've had under the lights at our yard. Bring your friend. Bring your friend's friend. And bring that person's nan too, while you're at it!

Some of the posts on here are so very disappointing.

If Derby, Pompey or Bolton had done what weโ€™d done to the same teams recently, these posters would be typing their lavished praise/implied criticism of their own club with fingers still sticky from their furious masturbation.

Back the team.

Have Oxford Utd ever had a quicker player than Josh Murphy?

Heโ€™s absolutely rapid with blistering speed (and power). Heโ€™s a machine running at full pace with the ball.
Wasn't Chrissy Hackett a regional sprinter? Though I think he lacked the ball control to demonstrate quite how fast he could be on the pitch. I remember Yemi also being pretty pacy. And Manny Omoyinmi?

But yes, Murph chews up the turf!

Most of the posts on here have been encouraging.

Common theme is that you can only beat the teams in front of you, but even though the opposition has been poor, we've now found an encouraging style under Des, and though we've got some seriously tough games coming up, what we have seen is very encouraging.

Are they really poor or have we MADE them look really poor?

Burton have got Stevenage soon. The way the league is this season whoโ€™d be really surprised if they picked up a point or 3 in that?

This season so far

Burton have

Drew against Bolton
Beat Lincoln
Beat Blackpool
Took 4 points off Leyton Orient

Fleetwood have

Drew with Portsmouth
Drew with Barnsley
Drew with Stevenage
Drew with Blackpool
Beat Leyton Orient

I would say on that evidence we have made them look very poor.
