Current Player #23 Josh Murphy

Looking forwards to seeing him do it against a better quality of opposition today.
Christ Josh, settle down.

Absolutely outstanding today and completely showed up a couple of excellent wingers in Poku and Mason-Clarke. People often say about him being a Championship level player but that wouldn't have looked out of place in the Premier League. Sensational again today and he's now in "we need to get him a new deal' territory. He's had a tough time the last few years, I don't know if any other club gets this version of Josh Murphy which has to play in our favour. Des has worked wonders with him.

Absolutely mental that this player has been there the whole time and Robinson couldn't get anything from him and Manning didn't want him at all, probably because Murphy likes trying to beat a man and try things as opposed to keeping the ball at all costs. Brilliant today.

Fantastic to see a player who was being boo'd by his own fans not long ago, getting a standing ovation around the entire ground today.

Whatever happens with him for the remainder of this season, or whether he gets another contract, it's just great on a human level to see a guy who has openly spoken about his mental health struggles get such validation.

Please, please, please can he sign a new contract.
So good today that Championship clubs are surely circling. It would be a no-risk signing for a lot of them.
Hope he finally feels he is in the right place and actively wants to stay here, we are certainly going to have to offer a good deal to keep him.

Agree- he will easily get a Championship move if he wants....

It's that if though. They can offer more money but we pay big ourselves. It'll be his last big contract and you can't blame someone for taking that money but he'll have made a lot already and there's a lot to be said for being happy in your job, he looks to be enjoying himself for the first time in his time here and for the years leading up to that.

I'm not sure any other club gets this version of Josh Murphy, happy, motivated and with the trust of his manager, team mates and fans. Must be the best player in the league over the last couple of months and will play a massive part in the next few weeks.

This is our best hope.

He's basically had five challenging years, including the first year with us, his year at Preston and most of his time at Cardiff.

Finally, everything is clicking again for him with a manager he clearly enjoys playing for. You'd have to think there's a decent chance he wants to stay and try and keep this going, even if the money might be a little better elsewhere. But footballers.....money......you never know.

I think that's three standing ovations on the trot, isn't it? We gave him one when he came off against Fleetwood, the Burton fans game him one at their place, and then today -which was his best performance of the lot. It says plenty when the whole right hand side of the opposition's defense gets subbed off at halftime!!

Karl was actually onto something.

Well not really, other than signing him he got nothing out of Murphy, Manning didn’t want him, Buckingham (and Murphy himself) have got his career back on track.

Without Buckingham Murphy is out of the game in a year or two, we will struggle to keep hold of him now unfortunately, but two people deserve credit for turning his career back around.

Well he was right. Murphy has been one of the best players in the Division for a couple of months
