National News Supreme court ruling

Im hoping leavers are happy with British judes in a British court upholding British sovereignty and democracy with todays supreme court ruling

This is nothing to do with EU law, this is all British law so the European courts have no jurisdiction.
if there is a loophole, no matter how tiny, dont bet against Cummings using it ;)

Breaking news: Tower of London to be closed to visitors for the rest of the day while 'preparations are made'. Rumours of the Queen leaving Balmoral astride an actual dragon are as yet unconfirmed.

Labour don't wnat an election as they know they will be history all the labour MPs they didn't mean it last time when they said leave means leave trust has gone

no its because they will lose big time.
Well they (Labour) might or might not. But NONE of the other parties will allow an election yet - the LibDems for example are likely to make gains in any election - and Labour couldn't block it without the help of all the minor parties. If you don't know why that is, you need to read up elsewhere other than on a football forum.

To put a football analogy on this, he hasn’t had any victory since taking charge, he had an 11-0 defeat in the Supreme Court today.
He’s lost the dressing room, He’s lost the terraces.
He should go

I read plenty, the lib dems are also going to lose out too.

Football is probably not a very good analogy, however I’d say he’s lost the support of the board, the players are split but the terraces are still with him.

I’m no great fan of Boris, but it would be extremely foolish to underestimate his popularity outside of Westminster.

To be fair, Parliament are against him and can out vote him on every vote.
Parliament seems to be doing nothing at all except for Brexit.
Hopefully after 31 October something will happen and there will be an election so we can have some clarity and some actual governing of the Country

In that case, you know EXACTLY why none of the other parties wants an election before the end of October and why there is likely to be one after that.
yep and then they lose. but why the hell should they get their way to stop a no deal when they know that straight after they will lose because they stopped a no deal?

he hasn't lost the terraces though.unlike libs and lab.

I don't know what you're reading.
The Lib Dems are currently polling at 20%, having won only 7.4% of the vote at the last election.

Are they going to get into power? No, of course they aren't. They're still comparative small fry.
But they are going to get a lot of Remain voters (who you may recall were 48% of the electorate three years ago) to switch to them because the only alternatives in England are the Tories (likely No Deal Brexit), the Brexit Party (definitely No Deal Brexit) and Labour (still haven't made their minds up).

If you are a Europhile (a substantial majority in London, and a bunch of other university towns like Oxford, Cambridge and Bristol), and Brexit is what you care about most, then the Lib Dems would seem to be the logical home for your vote.

Because they have a majority in parliament, and that's how our parliamentary democracy works?

That's the short answer - the long answer is that David Cameron actually gave them the ammunition to do this.
Before 2011, and the Fixed Term Parliament Act which his government introduced to shore up their coalition with the Liberal Democrats, the government could choose to call an election when it saw fit. It was his 2011 legislation that meant that a two-thirds supermajority of those in parliament had to agree to an election for it to happen.
That's the reason why the General Election is going to take place after Halloween, rather than before it.
Whether a No Deal Brexit happens before it, is likely going to depend on a combination of BoJo, Cummings and the Supreme Court.
