England and Morgan are getting a bit cocky with their approach. Whilst it’s all good smashing their way to victory, today can and will happen if they pick players all of the same type.

Is Tom Curran better that Chris Woakes?

Like I said a good few of these players just seems to be favourite picks and haven’t stepped up for a while. I personally think Morgan’s batting is a worry but will ever be questioned.

Stokes is to high at 4. Him at 5 and Buttler at 6 is very strong.

I only mentioned it because I caught a radio interview with Morgan the other day in which he specifically spoke about Root being the mainstay of the ODI middle order. It wasn't entirely clear whether he meant 'in the past', but it didn't sound like it.

I agree that Root has to start the 50 over games.
In the World Cup he was a massive part of the team .
We blew that today after a fantastic start by Roy and Bairstow.
With Archer not playing the bowling looks a bit weak. Wood, Rachid and Stokes are all doing OK, but the back up bowlers are being hammered by what is a very high quality opposition.

Re Root

Just to pick up on this, they have just said on the (awful) Talksport commentary, that Root is being rested and will come back into the side in the future. I hope that's right!
