Although we tend to favour 4-3-3, I think we will have more flexibility this season to change things around.

I can see us using something like a 4-1-4(diamond)-1 type set up. Gorrin would play the sweeper role, covering for the more attacking full backs, Brannagan as the play maker, 2 slightly narrower wide players ahead of him, with a no.10 playing off Taylor.

Hopefully we'll have far more options this year to change things up and adapt to the way others set up against us.

KR said in the interview the club will look to have 3 systems:
- 433
- 352
- '4 diamond' 2

Sure we will be recruiting to this. As such, will probabkly be looking for progressive Left Backs, Bodin/McGuane (and Agyei at the end of last year) can play #10 etc

I really liked us when we went to that diamond against I think it was Gillingham and the Shrews? Definitely shook things up when we needed to chase a game and Agyei was a monster in that 10.

Or he knows he is a squad player, happy with the deal and if he does well then we will offer him a new one when the time is right.
Another signing that is low risk but a useful one. It’s hard to criticise the clubs transfer dealing so far.
It absolutely is hard to criticise it so far. If we are aiming for those vaunted 11th-15th spots we are tracking excellently.

I rather fear the idea of Karl trying lots of clever systems.

What would you like to see happen? And who would pay? Don’t scuttle off!
The players we have brought in so far are MOR. Are they going to move us from 6th with how other teams are strengthening. I dont believe so.

Solid not spectacular. Add to that losing half our defence, with no left back, and i could say im not jumping for joy at our dealings so far.

Who would pay? Our Billionaire owners

I agree that the signings so far are solid rather than spectacular, but we weren't far off last season and there’s maybe more to come.

I don’t think we want to be beholden to rich owners for big transfers, it all gets added to a balance sheet and if they lose interest we’re suddenly millions in debt.

I’m reasonably relaxed regarding our transfer dealings with 35 days left till KO.

At the mo we are weaker than last season as direct replacements/upgrades have yet to be found for Ruffels, Atkinson, Barker and Shodipo.
So far Williams is in for Hall and Bodin for Lee.

Where’s the better quality players that we were promised, can you honestly say your over the moon with Williams and Bodin signings, don’t think we’re going to tear up league 1 from what I’ve seen so far and I think I’m in the majority on this

What are you expecting ? Williams was a mainstay in a team that spent pretty much the entire season comfortably in the play offs. Bodin has come out of the championship and has an impressive record at this level. Williams will be an upgrade on Barker in terms of his final ball, his work rate and his experience in getting out of L1. I think Bodin will be better than Lee too, he’s quicker and far more powerful in possession than Lee. Both are at a good age too.

We are doomed I tell ya we’ve only signed 3 players and one of those is a injury prone wide player ( if he didn’t get injured and released by Preston we probably wouldn’t have had much chance getting him) the other player was at arsenal oh and Barcelona before going to forest and if we can get the best out of him could be worth more than any player we’ve sold before oh and Ryan Williams a player Pompey fans were sad to see leave who on his day could be a very good player but we are doomed we’ve only signed 3 players and the window shuts in 9 weeks

5 weeks until the first game. 2 months until the transfer window closes. Every year!!!!!!

Whyte=a pie in the sky signing!

More realistic if we have some cash to take a look at some of the best options from league 2.
