Home Match Day Thread +++ 28/4/2018 OUFC v Rochdale Match Day Thread +++

My personal favourites - the clap, clap, clap-clap-clap-clap U’s! Chant and ricky’s song.

I did wish yesterday that the Ricardinho song had just been halted while Joe Rothwell went off so he could have been applauded off the pitch properly, without his replacement's name being chanted over the top. He'd had a good game and it was quite possibly his last home appearance for us.

A few randons:

- that was one big mascot that led the team out!
- Lego sprinted to East Stand after handshakes. Saying goodbye or thank you for fans player of the season?
- 3 wins from 4 is on target for 100 points . New contracts for everyone ?
- KR works from 7.30am to 10.30am each day while on holiday. Not popular with his family but he doesn't stop. So "Not the man"!
- we won after conceding first. We visibly upped the tempo after conceding- A throwback to the mid 80s
- East Stand were excellent (except for the dick who lit the smokey)
- we are so much better to watch with pace in the team. KR loves pace. Happy days.
- Sunderland away. Bloody glory hunters. When do the Accrington tickets go on sale?

I'm shocked Eastwood didn't get poty. He is far too good for league 1 and I'd say best keeper in this league.

If we keep him we would've done remarkably well to do so.

He has stepped up and in the last week his saves have won us 2 games. That save he made from the header at the back post 1st Half was the best save I've seen at Grenoble Road for a few years.

To be honest he dropped off from his very high standards during the Pep end/Faz period, though the uncertainty of the team in front of him didn't help. Since KR has come in he has got his mojo back.

Hope he stays at any rate. Eastwood, Nelson/Dickie, Ledson is a great spine to build around for next season.

Sean Derry likely to be KR's assistant next season - sat next to us yesterday.

Spoke to 'mascot' before the game - he'd been set up by his stags ?

Really good performance yesterday, KR has transformed this set of players from being a pushover to a team that is determined not to get beat. For that reason I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we went to Blackburn and come away with all three points.
Next season could be really exciting to be a u’s supporter.

Proud of players, fans and management to get the lads in the right head space to see us safe. Nice to see goals coming now and us being more compact. I wasn’t best pleased with lack of results after the Wigan game but 2 wins on the bounce is great credit to KR & looking forward to a promotion push next season! Looks like we’ll be losing Ledson but we can hopefully get 2 million for him.

The sense of relief after yesterday was immense, walking away from the ground all I could see were smiling faces, brilliant, when I come on this forum and read bullshit from people like born to be yellow who constanly dog the club down its even more gratifying, us fans have been amazing over the last couple of months, got behind the team, turned up in numbers, the attendance figures have noticeably gone up the lower we have gone.
I think everyone has realised that we are all in this together and we’ve all played a part to keep us up.
I know there’s loads of s**t going on behind the scenes but the one constant is the fans and we’ve all done our bit, great atmosphere yesterday, time to pat ourselves on the back.

Thought the Ultras and the rest of the East Stand made a good atmosphere yesterday. Only a small criticism but occasionally the chants by the Ultras don't react to a match situation, such as when we got some corners, the existing chant just continued. As I say a small thing but it was noticeable.

Oh and don't do the smoke bomb, it is very clear the club don't want it as they've been warned enough times by authorities.

Other than that excellent.

I thought clubs were find if flares are let of, if that is the case was not t an Ultra who let the smoke bomb off it came from where they were stood. If it was and they’re supposed to be all about Oxford them that was a stupid thing to do, it harms the club.

Anybody know why Rochdales fans were singing José Mourinho’s name?

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but the two penalty decisions seemed a bit harsh on Rochdale. They also had a shout for one.
Obviously glad of the win, but it does seem tough on the Dale.

Keith Hill didn't seem to complain about either of them?
I think that in both occasions their defenders got the wrong side of Rothwell/ Hall.
