Home Match Day Thread +++ 06/01/2018 OUFC v Blackpool match day thread +++

Well I was at the game today, Jerome. A less than average game between 2 average teams. We were overrun in midfield and could barely string passes together. The move down the right between Martin and Obika that came off a few times against MK Mongs had clearly been analysed by Blackpool and didn’t work at all today.

We missed Ricardinho badly and had nothing on the left without him. Carroll had a good game, Payne a bad one (and without being 2-man marked either). They (as most teams are) were all over Thomas and he barely ever draws a foul - don’t really know why.

Obika 3 on the trot without looking particularly menacing. Ruffels was anonymous. Lego tenacious, and closed down occasionally, but nothing PNE would play a million for ?

Crap game. 3 points. We await the return of Maguire to the Kasshit in 2 weeks’ time.

Well I’ll take the 3 points any day, but we made hard work of that. Without some worldies from Eastwood that could have been 4-1. Much better from Carroll. Good game by obika. Dunno what’s up with Payne, I know he’s not a winger but couldn’t even make a 5 yard pass today and set pieces were Terrible, I was just saying please don’t let him take another as he got subbed for mowatt. Hopefully mous injury isn’t serious. Those 6 points were very welcome but still lots of room for improvement. Starting with the front 3 especially Thomas being a tad less greedy when breaking forward

Perhaps they’re bored of boring and needless comments like that?

Still it’s much better watching a boring game of football with little/no singing with a fence one end and breeze block wall the other

Yep maybe... similar to the boring comments about lack of singing from SSU ?

Stadium design has been the same since day one so a silly excuse really.

We got hammered 7-0 they took the flags down and sulked off. Flags haven’t been up since... coincidence?

Still.. we have two home wins on the bounce with them down so probably best not to jinx it now ?

Dont get me wrong.. we need the flags and atmosphere improved but some of this childish behaviour does them no favours.

Haven’t been since Northampton and not much since last season so can’t really comment on Wigan etc.

Banners or no banners doesn’t really bother me as my back is normally to them.

Wasn’t referring to singing from the SSU.

Still three points and all that

Would you like to volunteer arriving at the ground at 10am every home game and spend 2 hours putting them up by yourself? That's what they have to do. If stewards are making life hard for them is it really worth it for them? They're all in their 20s and would probably much rather be having a drink before the game with everyone else.

The game won't live long in the memory, but it's 2 home wins in 2, so not all bad. Some wasteful and selfish forward play, some good goalkeeping and bloody cold. Ledson seems to be getting back into form, Tiendalli didn't poop the bed like he was assumed to and some hard work.

The team needs more players, but all in, it's progress. Won't make everyone happy, but some locals are never happy.

Just got back. Great result. Absolutely crap game. We didn't really deserve to win and have Eastwood to thank that we weren't destroyed.

Still, I accept the three points gratefully!:)

Obika was one of our worst players bar the goal, shocked he got motm

Eastwood and Ledson class

Fans getting onto Tiendalli’s back before a ball is kicked isn’t helpful

Here we go, a very lacklustre performance, cant win 2nd balls, half the team are colour blind passing to a white shirt. the defence again are not doing a great job, I think I counted 3 decent moves from GVK and that's not counting his one on one with the keeper that wasn't professional,

A scrappy and very lucky 3 points a good header from the Beak but that was that. Couldn't make out from PEP's interview the transfer situation think he said something along the lines of looking for the right qualities, I think we should look to recruit a couple of players with pace.

but 3 points nearer the magical 50 points,

Just looked at the highlights of the game. Mainly consists of Eastwood making save after save after save. Then Mowatt's slow trot across the field to take the free kick, and the goal! Sums the game up really.

Well that was a dire game, but at least we won! Seriously getting hacked off with the moaner sat behind me though! Onto the next game

Eastwood defo man of the match.

Kept us in the game and we could have been 3 down if not for him.

Thankfully he did his job well and we knicked a goal.

Not a great game by any stretch but to take 3 points after that has to be a good Oman.

Blackpool must be on that coach wondering what the hell went wrong.

But has the moaner sat behind you had anything to not moan about?

Fair enough.. didn’t realise stewards were making life difficult since Wigan.

I’ve never questioned their efforts but they do seem to have thrown the toys out of the pram since that game.

My maths ain’t great but 10 + 2 = 12, so plenty of time for a beer too.
