Ex Player Tyler Smith

According to Rageonline (which is never wrong!), the full list of Smiths that have played for us is:

Andy, Barry, Charlie, Dave, Jay, Jim, Jonte, Ken, Roy, Sam and now Tyler.
Oisin is the only Smyth.

(as an aside, it's always fun looking up scores from games in the 40s and 50s. Apparently in Jim Smith's [not the same one] first season in the Southern League we had a 9-4 win, a 6-5 win, a 7-2 win, a 6-0 defeat and an 8-2 defeat. Old football was bonkers!)

2-3-5 was a standard formation.

And that was despite the fact you could just pass it back to the keeper if pressed.

The only loanees I can think of that were as bad as these two were that useless pair from Man City who ambled around the pitch waving their arms around whenever the ball wasn't delivered straight to their feet.

Agreed, we're booting balls up to him. What do we expect him to do, given his height?

Tyler Smith ...27 goals in 121 apps overall.
League one 13 in 61
Championship 4 in 37
Hardly inspiring stats
24 so good age but all so far I can think of is his ' attempt ' v Barnsley and when had the ball yesterday in a good attacking break passed it straight out of play , Phil Trainer esqu

Do it again but goals per 90 minutes

He's a decent player but isn't what we needed. We needed pace and power to play alongside Taylor.

So not deemed good enough to start very often either then ?
I only have app stats and can't be arsed to delve that much into a very average ( at best) forward.

So you’ll dig out the stats that justify your opinion but ignore the ones that don’t… not really how to use stats. His goals per 90 ratio has been consistently good through his career.

He looks average for us because we are terrible. Taylor isn’t past it, Smith isn’t average. It’s not them, it’s us.

No , it was on wiki which only lists apps and I couldn't be bothered delving into minute by minute played .
You obviously have so please enlighten us all.
He looks poor and isn’t a natural goalscorer and never scored double figures any season in the football league doesn't fill me with confidence.
I'd love him to go on a scoring run but don't think he is what we need .
