It must be quite solemn for him, he is in this huge moment because his mother died.It sounds more like a funeral than a coronation. Charles looks like he has attended his own funeral

Very republican of youI am almost reluctant to say, as I don't want to bring controversy into a thread about the monarchy, but I just had avocado.
That’s very true. Despite all the rehearsals nothing prepares you for this.It must be quite solemn for him, he is in this huge moment because his mother died.
You could not be more right about that. It’s a bit of history. My wife likes the outfits. Penny Mordaunt looks rather splendid. That’s all really.
She’s Arthurian! The lady in the lake. Obvs sovereign power should not be dispensed by some watery tart, however. You could not be more right about that.
Well, I found today very moving in places and a source of great pride in something that we as a country do better than any other in the world.
And maybe it's against the grain for here, but I absolutely think that having a king and royal family is a far better idea than any of the alternatives.
Having just a PM completely let loose to represent us would be horrible, yet adding in a president would on one hand be creating a position with about as much relevance and clout as the latest raft of mayors that have appeared in recent times,...
...but more importantly would leave us open to the distractions and vagaries of politics and celebrity which we don't need. Maybe there are some people who could be good at it, but they wouldn't get elected... we'd just get a choice of Blair, Johnson, David Beckham, Sam Smith and Bagga Chips.
Far better to have a group of people who have focused their whole lives on performing a largely successful version of the role than scrapping another institution without any clear idea of a workable alternative.
f**k ‘em, always the victims, always wanting to blame someone else. GSTK.Liverpool fans loudly booing the National Anthem at the game tonight. Poor form that.
They always boo the national anthem. It's not new. It's not a crime to be a republican. Yet.God save the King and the Heysel 39.
Thanks for snuffing out our European adventure before it started you Scouse scumbags. Hope they never win anything ever again
Nope, and It’s not a crime in this country to have a different opinion either, yet, but that doesn’t and won’t stop us criticising the anti monarchists, particularly the perennial victims that the scousers seem to think they are. They always boo the national anthem. It's not new. It's not a crime to be a republican. Yet.
