No special knowledge, I’m afraid. Simply relaying an email from a councillor who was asked by a resident as to why OCC were, according to OUFC, dragging its heels.

Their comment on the portal has every fi replaced with ●

I don’t actually know but what it could be is that if the person wrote it using a fancy font on their computer it might have used a “fi” ligature symbol which replaces “f” “i” with a single “fi” character. That could then easily get misconverted into a different font symbol when uploaded.
Could be something else, mind.

So on the one hand we have a occ councillor all be it a Oufc supporter claiming it's down to the lib Dems
And we have a email saying occ are not dragging there heels all be it we don't know who's party they belong too we also have a green councillor who hasn't said anything at all

OUFC supporters don't care about party politics, we just want a new stadium for the future of our club!

Although this whole process has convinced me to never vote for Lib Dems or Green ever again.

Don't forget that the "Independent expert" is an FoSB supporter as well.

With the latest accounts being released and the eye watering amounts of debt racked up under the stewardship of Williams and Ferguson, and looking highly likely to continue to rise at an alarming rate for this season too.

Plus the club going public with the following comments;

“Six months after pledging to commit to a lease on the land at the Triangle the heads of terms and lease agreement have been agreed by the club but remain unsigned by the Council."

"We need the heads of terms and lease option with appropriate conditions signed as this is causing serious delay and is putting the project and the very future of the club at risk."

Feels like we’re rapidly approaching crunch time for the future of Oxford United.

Is all the painstaking, attention to detail, brilliant ground work by Niall McWilliams being allowed to unravel under Williams?

Does Williams have the necessary skills to see a deal through, which at the heart of it will enable the football club to prosper?

We’re already losing the heart and soul of the club under Williams and Benson. If there’s no stadium deal though, there’s no club. It’s as simple as that.

The county council haven't even signed the heads of terms yet, even if Cherwell grant planning permission we need OCC to sign of the lease first before building can commence. OCC delaying will be the death of the club and they will have blood on their hands. You can kill the football club but you can't kill the supporters!

90 percent of comments on the planning portal are in support. The person (s) inside OCC who are trying to delay this are going to become deeply unpopular if they are not careful.

They will find out the hard way when the local elections come round. People won’t forget who is supportive and who isn’t. My vote is going to Labour, Isobel Oakeshott was only announced as a candidate a week or so ago, yet she’s made more positive comments about the club than most local councillors put together. Green & Lib Dems have got too big for their boots. They may just pay for that very soon.

And the fact is, that ‘independent expert’s’ Opinion has been quashed by actual experts who have put their opinion on the portal, actual idiots FOSB are, as are the people who have allowed their name to be attached to such lies and misinformation. More fool them.
